Purpose of Job:
Works with the Senior Vice President of People & Culture, along with the executive team, to aid in the successful formation, management, and execution of PBV’s public and corporate affairs strategy, goals, and objectives. Serves as the main spokesperson for the company and directs all communication, corporate efforts, and legislative initiatives by collaborating with community partners, local, state, and federal governments, and the news media and develops policies and programs that help accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
Job Duties:
Creates, directs, and executes PBV’s internal and external communications and corporate affairs strategy, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
Leads internal communication initiatives to ensure employees are well-informed about company developments, goals, and achievements; partners with the executive team on organization-wide communications and presentations.
Oversees corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that align with the organization’s and industry’s values and communicates internally/externally.
Develops and implements crisis communications plans to address potential challenges. Serves as spokesperson as needed.
Writes, edits, and directs press releases and manages interactions with media as the main company spokesperson and drives paid, earned, and owned media as necessary.
Drives communication for all external communication platforms, including website and social media, analyzes and optimizes performance.
Strengthens and maintains PBV’s political involvement in coordination with PepsiCo and association partners.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
8+ years combined experience in internal corporate communications, external corporate affairs, and/or government relations, preferably in a corporate environment within the beverage or manufacturing industry.
8+ years of combined experience managing, and leading efforts related to internal corporate communications, external public relations, corporate affairs/community affairs, and knowledge of political systems and strong political acumen.
Expertise in dealing with high-profile stakeholders such as executives, elected officials, community leaders, and a variety of external constituencies; including the ability to influence decision-making.
Proven experience driving internal corporate communications programs that drive overall organizational objectives.
Experience directing, managing, and partnering with public relations firms.
Strong understanding of the media landscape and how to place coverage in top-tier media outlets.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills and experience presenting at the highest levels of business and government, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
Strategic thinker with the ability to align communications initiatives with business objectives.
Ability to handle multiple project simultaneously.
Ability to work collaboratively and under tight deadlines.
Act independently with sound judgment.
Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal policy-making processes, including an understanding of roles and decision points.
