The New Group, one of New York’s leading Off-Broadway theaters, is seeking a full-time Marketing Associate to play a key role in the Marketing Department’s responsibilities for stage productions, Off Stage projects, and institutional programs. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the associate will also support the department’s campaign planning, content creation, communications, and audience development efforts.

The New Group Off Stage celebrates work at the intersection of art, multimedia, and social engagement by showcasing some of today’s most compelling storytellers through web series, films, audio plays, and more. The New Group also operates a variety of theater education programs from teen acting ensembles to college access programs, and a college-level acting studio in collaboration with Long Island University-Brooklyn.Responsibilities will include:Execute promotions on social media and email marketing channels as part of an overall marketing strategy

With the Director of Marketing, monitor the communications calendar to ensure the successful rollout of marketing campaignsCreate social media content and oversee scheduling, engagement, and analyticsBuild and deploy email campaigns to targeted audience segmentsMaintain the email database through Spektrix and DotDigital

Implement basic website updates and maintenance (via WordPress)Work with Director of Marketing to purchase media spends and analyze paid campaigns with vendorsDesign lobby display and digital program for each productionParticipate in content creation including copywriting, graphic design, social media, event social media coverage, and video/photoshootsSupport ticketing and customer service activity as neededCollaborate on ongoing initiatives for audience cultivation and community engagement

Organize and attend Engagement events (up to 4 per production)

Circulate marketing and press photos for review with company and staffProvide design layout support for institutional assets, collaborating with the development and educational departmentsAssist in administrative support for the marketing departmentThe ideal candidate will have the following:Demonstrated or transferable experience with the responsibilities listed aboveStrong written and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent proofreading skills and attention to detailFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace applicationsFamiliarity with email and CRM database systems (DotDigital and Spektrix is a plus)Basic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite is preferred), with the propensity to learnVideo editing experience is a plusAbility to maintain multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating between staff, external agencies, and vendorsAbility to work independently and be proactive, to troubleshoot, and to pivotAbility to collaborate with and adapt to a wide variety of people and personalities, working styles, and artistic visionsThe New Group currently operates as a hybrid workplace with office hours from 10:00AM to 6:00PM Monday-Friday. Administrative staff typically work onsite the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This position requires extended periods of time working at a computer, as well as some evening and weekend onsite event coverage. The New Group produces at locations that are separate from its offices and local travel may be required from time to time.Experience or interest in a specific area of arts marketing—graphic design, social media, copywriting, event planning—is desirable but not a requirement.The New Group will provide training for specific software programs (Spektrix and Dot Digital). Current benefits package includes health, dental, vision, 403(b) retirement, and commuter benefit plans.
