Who we areThe Sharing Network does something about the loneliness crisis by bringing together older, homebound, lower-income residents of public housing in Brooklyn, NY, through phone-based activity and conversation groups. These connections foster joy and create a sense of community.Volunteer roleWe are seeking a volunteer art teacher to lead a hands-on art group that meets for an hour each week during an 8-week term. Can you teach sculpture, collage, drawing, painting or needlework to non-artists in their 60s, 70s and 80s?Heres the challenge. All our meetings take place on the phone and we dont use video. Whoever takes this position must be able to talk participants through each session without benefit of visual cues.
