This is a full-time, year-round management position that works from our head office in Richmond, BC. Seeking an immediate start date with a long-term commitment to the position.

Position SummaryAs a member of the Sonora Resort management team, this position is responsible for assisting with the overall management and success of Sonora Resort marketing and sales efforts. Reporting to the General Manager for Sonora Resort, this position is responsible for driving the brand strategy while working with key stakeholders on corporate advertising planning and execution. This includes developing key campaigns, driving them across all internal and external marketing communications vehicles and implementation of initiatives that economically benefit Sonora Resort. The role works to bring the brand framework to life across all communication touch points while driving revenue goals.

Builds strategies and provides direction and input on advertising/marketing programs, campaigns and vehicles.Provide supervision, direction and leadership to the Sales & Reservations team to achieve Marketing and Sales goalsManage the performance of the Sonora Head Office team, including: Reservations Manager, Client Services Manager, Sales Associate and Reservations & Accounting Coordinator.Implement Sonora branded guest communications to be used by Sonora Sales & Reservations team.Increase sales strategically to fill resort to desired capacity throughout the operational season.Actively working with General Manager of Sonora Resort and other key players on all key initiatives including digital and print strategy, PR strategy and media services team.Builds strategies, implements advertising/marketing programs, campaigns and vehicles.Creates and issues quarterly newsletters with input from department managers for guest readershipMaintains and contributes to social media feeds i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Linked in, Twitter etc.Reviews and recommends participating in marketing relationships with Tour Operators, Hotel Groups such as Jonview, Discover Holidays, Canadian Railtours, Relais & Chateaux, Traveller Made, Select Hotels, TripAdvisor, etc.Ensure good communication regularly with the General Manager of Sonora Resort on all issues, particularly those affecting the economical operation of the marketing campaignsWorks with key stakeholders to help develop, manage and report on the annual advertising and marketing budget.Tracks and reviews all program results, prepares recommendations and implements action plans to continually improve marketing effectiveness and impact.Analyzes and interprets the effectiveness of marketing programs.On an ongoing basis, monitors, reviews and evaluates the competitive landscape to best determine how to stay ahead and keep relevant with respect to Sonora Resort's brand and marketing content.Qualifications & Experience:

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and fluent in English. Second languages are an asset.Three (3) years of experience in a management position, preferably in the Marketing and/or Hospitality industry.An undergraduate business degree or MBA, with an emphasis on Marketing preferred.Firsthand experience in developing business strategies and marketing plansAbility to build and maintain strong relationships; interact and influence at all levels both within and outside the organization including owners, key business partners, team members and guests.Personal alignment with Sonora's core values and corporate culture and ability to model Leadership AccountabilityProficiency with MS office suite and Outlook, as well as resort PMS systems.Exceptional leadership & management abilities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Effective decision making and problem-solving capabilities demonstrating sound judgement.Highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.An honest, fair, and empathetic leadership style.

Resort Life

The Resort operates seasonally from May through mid-October, during which time our team members work and live on-site at the Resort. Shift work is required. Depending on the department, typical shifts are between 7- 18 days on and 4 days off. Schedules vary by department and peak and non-peak seasons. We require a minimum commitment of one season to be eligible for a position.
