The York Revolution is seeking a Director of Marketing to coordinate internal and external communications with the goal on increasing revenue. The Revolution are seeking a creative and motivated individual with significant experience directing marketing staff at a relevant industry such as sports, hospitality, retail or entertainment. The ideal applicant will embrace the fun culture and environment of minor league baseball at WellSpan Park.

General Role Description:

The primary goal of this position is to increase ticket sales to Revolution and other non-baseball events at WellSpan Park and to support other potential Revolution endeavors; to support the work of the Sales Department by creating a receptive audience of advertisers and group sales purchasers; and to strengthen and raise brand awareness in the York market. The primary and ultimate measure of success for this position is the sale of tickets and similar purchases for Revolution baseball games and related businesses.

Key Role Accountabilities:

• Manage all Marketing personnel. Directly manages Creative Director, Online Advertising & Sales Manager and all Marketing interns. Indirectly has responsibility for all game day staff in this department, such as the Rally Crew, Camera Ops, mascot, announcers, and any other game production personnel.• Create and execute the marketing plan for our organization, including Revolution game individual ticket and plan ticket sales, special events, retail, and working with Revolution Hospitality to promote and increase sales in concessions. This includes managing the promotion of significant non-game events, such as July4 York, the Halloween Parade and many others. In addition, should the organization continue to expand, execute marketing plans for additional elements using our existing structure.• Work closely with the General Manager of WOYK to plan and execute marketing activities to increase listeners of the station and create a receptive advertising sales audience.• Serves as liaison between departments internally for coordination of marketing-driven promotions, schedules, and social media endeavors.• Manages full time and game production personnel during events at WellSpan Park. Full time Marketing intern and the Creative Director will schedule and serve as immediate supervisor.• Oversees digital marketing efforts, including website, social media, email marketing, YouTube/video production and any other digital endeavors.• Oversee and execute external and internal advertising campaigns. Includes negotiating with external providers such as billboard and radio stations, as well as approval of artwork for all advertising.• Develops the Revolution promotional calendar in collaboration with the Director of Partnerships and Promotions. The goal is to produce the most entertaining promotional calendar possible given the established budget. Director of Marketing will take the lead in discussions with the talent/entertainers in negotiating appearance fees and executing contracts. Marketing intern will execute the appearances once the Marketing team establishes the promotional calendar.• Establishes similar promotional and advertising campaigns for WOYK, Parties & Events and other future Revolution endeavors.• Assists in the creation and manages the Marketing and promotional budgets for the Revolution and non-baseball endeavors with the expectation of meeting budget.• Manages the public communications for the organization. This includes all press releases, media advisories, and website. Organize and execute local media appearances and interviews for incoming entertainers and/or Revolution players to maximize exposure to the public.• Accountable for ticket sales results for small ticket plans and individual game purchases. Accountable for in-house attendance meeting budgeted goals. Directs Marketing and Ticketing personnel to meet budgeted goals.• Accountable for meeting and beating admissions goals for special events and other similar admissions-oriented Revolution activities.• Supervise the Creative Director in creating an exceptional game-day production. Learn how to operate equipment and software in use with video boards and audio systems. Direct the Marketing intern in supervision and scheduling of game-day personnel.• Collaborate with Community Engagement Manager in execution of community relations and appearances. Director and Community Engagement Manager will ensure we are active as an organization, appearing at events that will result in increased ticket sales, expand brand recognition and strengthen ties to the community.• Maintains editorial control of all print production, including playbill, flyers, posters and any other external print communication regarding the organization. Primary playbill production will be fulfilled by the Creative Director and Director of Marketing.

Manage the Online Advertising & Sales Manager in digital marketing and database management with the goal of targeting distinct demographic groups for specific events to increase revenue and consumer participation.

Minimum Role Requirements

• College degree and at least five years of experience in marketing, preferably in sports, events or advertising.

Working Conditions

• A minimum 40 hour week and 8 hour Monday-Friday work schedule is required of all full time employees during the off-season. This schedule will include some weekend hours for special events as determined by the General Manager or the President.• Work hours during the baseball season will exceed 60 hours per week and 12+ hours per day on game days including evenings and weekends. The baseball season work schedule may also include 7 or more consecutive work days.• Physical Demands will require the employee to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities of the job include close vision, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is normally exposed to normal indoor air-conditioned temperatures as well as exposure to the sun. The noise level in the work environment is usually low where hearing protection is not necessary based on OSHA requirements.
