The data, integration and analytics UX team (DIA) is looking for a principal designer to help shape the future of the AWS data & analytics experience.

Here is what we are looking for:

You deliver significantly complex design programs, pipelines, and/or initiatives with visible and not-yet-visible risks, roadblocks, and many conflicting issues. In addition to solving the design problem at hand, your output is a critical part of the business solution and strategy.

When setting the long-term vision, you might not even know what the problem is before starting. You drive the objectives and play a significant role in the long-term planning for your organization and influence strategy and goals of partner teams beyond your design specific domain. You are broadly recognized as a thought leader for visual experience where you are regularly influencing at the Director+ level in an organization and may across multiple organizations or regions.

You proactively identify big opportunities to delight Amazon customers with innovative ideas, and the designs you deliver are noteworthy (e.g., solve cross-org problems, lead significantly complex designs that raises the bar across the industry).

You ensure that strategies are executed in a scalable and extensive manner and have material impact for the business. You are a proven force multiplier, where you are delivering solutions that dramatically increase the effectiveness of the organization, giving them the ability to accomplish greater things.

About the team

The DIA UX team (data, integrations, analytics) covers most of the core services in the data and analytics space for AWS. With a team of 50+ designers and managers you have plenty of opportunity to learn, expand and grow your career in everything that matters today most: data, AI and analytics.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of design experience

Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design

Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $244,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
