What will you do?

Prepares packaging samples, 2 and 3 dimensional CAD drawings and graphic design including any and all necessary specification documents. Packaging components include but are not limited to: blister cards, folding cartons, cold form and thermoform cavities and tooling designs and seal board layouts. Each Package Designer is solely responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the structural, graphical and mechanical aspects of any given project.

Works with other departments to develop/build training and/or presentation materials.

Works with Client Services to develop high quality proposals, quotations and work orders.

Provides the necessary attention and communication to all customers internal and external, including follow up on a regular basis.

Achieves, maintains and advances the necessary level of knowledge of packaging materials, techniques and information via communication with vendors, attending seminars, attending trade shows, subscribing to trade magazines and publications, etc.

Generates/updates the necessary documentation according to departmental/individual responsibilities and requirements.

Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of company SOP's. Assists in the revision and /or creation of new procedures and guidelines relating to Design and Engineering. Alerts management to any procedural errors or inconsistencies.

Participates in meetings, when required, with or without customers, to determine new and custom designs.

On call at management’s request to assist in meeting project deadlines.

Education:

An Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design

Minimum Qualifications

:

Experience with AutoCAD computer software

Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop computer software

Experience with SolidWorks computer software-preferred

Experience with Microsoft office products (including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook, and Microsoft Windows)

Good math, Geometry and Trigonometry skills

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

The ability to manage multiple and varied projects to meet deadlines
