Job Description

Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.Western Digital is looking for a Communications Specialist to join its Internal Communications team as part of Global Corporate Marketing. In this role, you will support internal communications across the company as we develop and deliver relevant content for the company’s employee-related channels, focusing on developing and implementing an innovative social-media-style approach. You will be a key member of the content team responsible for sourcing, creating, and publishing content aligned with the company’s priorities to inform, inspire, and motivate employees.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the Content and Story Development for intranet, news and social media channels: cultivate and develop content and stories from across the company, including ideas for simple, engaging ways to communicate them, e.g., a social media experience.

Provide copywriting and messaging support across multiple deliverables, including emails, FAQs, social media posts, and other communications.

Participate in brainstorms, content strategy, and execution for Internal Communications, including drafting, editing, and promotion of content.

Collaborate and communicate with multiple cross-functional teams to align on content and campaigns.

Identify trends within the social media landscape, share them with the team and recommend pivot strategies based on these trends.

Manage day-to-day digital operations, e.g., Sharepoint, mailers, employee video channel.

Track and assemble metrics reporting for comms channels.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Demonstrated interest in developing a modern internal communications strategy.

Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills.

Detail-oriented and organized.

Ability to work with many stakeholders and manage deadlines on multiple projects.

Comfortable dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to work calmly and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining good judgment and the ability to escalate appropriately.

Active listener with the ability to work as a self-starter.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

Energetic, creative, positive and proactive.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sharepoint and social media platforms.

Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data, track key performance indicators and make data-driven decisions to enhance internal comms strategy.

Compensation & Benefits Details

An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, ability, knowledge of the job, performance, contribution, results, geographic location, shift, internal and external equity, and business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
