The Sales / Designer is responsible for generating revenue based on their set revenue goal and ensures that projects are consistently produced on time and at the estimated gross margin. The Sales / Designer also produces Design revenue by working efficiently, thereby maximizing billable hours.Experience/Requirements:

Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and concern for clients.Has 3+ years’ experience in residential design/construction.Possesses computer proficiency and demonstrated skill in using software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BuilderTrend and Chief Architect.Has current product knowledge in cabinetry (made to order and custom), lighting, fixtures, finishes (such as tile, stone, solid surfacing, and laminates), appliances, and flooring.Can produce schematic plans, sketches, and notes to efficiently transfer project information to the CAD department.Ideally, is credentialed Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), Certified Bath Designer (CBD), Certified Interior Designer (CID), or has professional membership in American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).Experience with Chief Architect Software.Can generate revenue goal set by the Sales Team Manager.Attire: Professional: Dress shirt, slacks, skirt, or suit (no t-shirts, shorts, or blue jeans except on casual Fridays). Good grooming and personal hygiene. Following Harrell’s Dress Code Policy.Hours: Full-time position. Needs to be available Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The work schedule is flexible.Job Duties:

Screen lead calls and define basic scope of client's project including budget expectations. Determine if the lead is a Harrell client with a Harrell project based on criteria: Do the clients love their home? Do the clients love their neighborhood? Do the clients love each other? Do the clients have reasonable expectations? Is this project within the realm of Harrell competency? What are the liability risks in doing this project?Meet with potential clients to discuss their project, show Harrell portfolio, and determine if appropriate to offer a design contract.Once a potential client has been pre-qualified, present and review the terms of the Design Agreement. Collect design retainer.Meet with Sales Manager on a weekly or biweekly, or as requested, basis to review and track leads and appointments with potential clients.With CAD Department support, measure site and take photos of existing conditions.Offer design alternatives, paying special attention to client's requests guided by cost considerations, code constraints, and design 'buildability.'Develop two or three schematic design choices so the client is not overwhelmed by design process for cost effectiveness and agreed upon scope of work.Present schematic plans and conceptual estimates to further define the project.Meet with clients to finalize selection of custom materials, finish materials, fixtures, and appliances.Meet at the project site with Specifiers and key Trade Specialists to transfer project information to them.Coordinate with Specifiers, CAD, and the Production department to finalize contract specifications, drawings, and schedule, determine contract price and set start date of construction project.Present Construction Contract Documents, drawings, specifications, and proposed schedule to client for approval and signature. Obtain deposit and custom material checks.Attend Custom Materials Baton with Specifiers, and Project Manager and lead carpenter.Conduct onsite kick-off meeting walk-through with the Project/Site Manager, Carpenter, and Client.Participate in the on-site project meetings with client, Project/Site Manager, and Carpenter.Maintain good client relations and arrange for mid-project and project completion gifts as deemed necessary.Provide ongoing support to the Production team in the form of clarifications, additional drawings as required, feedback on job-task summaries, assistance with client relations, and presentation strategy for 'difficult' change orders.Review and approve change orders prior to presentation to the client.Perform all tasks above at a productive pace and in a cost-effective manner.Maintain contact with potential clients (weekly check-in recommended), and report to Sales Manager.Meet weekly with the Design Manager to update project schedule including permit date, contract present date, custom material order date, and project start date.Participate in weekly Sales meetings, and Harrell workshops.Set goals for and participate in marketing events self-selected or as requested by the Harrell Leadership team and act as a Harrell representative.Ensure that all timesheets, reimbursable expenses, design invoices and companywide performance reviews are submitted to the office within established time frames.Set goals for time usage for administrative, sales, marketing tasks and billable design hours. Work efficiently to maximize billable hours.As a representative for Harrell, act in a professional manner.
