Director, Communications for AF/Space Business Groups

SAIC is looking for a Communications leader who will lead the development, execution, and management of internal and external communications for the company’s AFCC and Space Business Groups. This is an important role that has a direct and significant impact to the company’s success, our ability to shape our markets, and the perception of the SAIC brand by all our stakeholders.Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CCO, this individual will engage and inspire internal and external stakeholders to position SAIC as a leader in bringing the right talent, technologies, and solutions to drive our customers’ mission around the world.Partner with the Executive Vice President of the AFCC and Space Business Groups as well as business leaders and subject matter experts to differentiate SAIC in the market, establish thought leadership, and position the company for competitive advantage.Develop, plan, and conduct public relations, executive communications and public affairs campaigns to support company business objectives with the media, public, industry, and other external stakeholders. In some cases, serve as a SAIC spokesperson with the media and external audiences.Plan, design, execute and measure external PR campaigns in addition to supporting tradeshows and events, customer demos, digital campaigns, community relations and thought leadership efforts.Create and execute communications programs to engage employees, empower managers, improve retention, and ensure team members across the business have clarity of objectives, priorities, and strategies.Work closely with the Business Group leadership team on internal communications efforts, including employee engagement, Intranet content and other channels.Qualifications

BA in Journalism, Business, Communications, or related discipline.15+ years’ experience in communications and/or public relations. At least 5 years of management experience.Demonstration of excellent communication and storytelling skills, must be an excellent writer; partner effectively with executives, leaders, technical team members and engineers, stakeholders, and other audiences.Government contracting, government services or defense industry experience preferred.An acute sense of ownership and accountability, as well as the ability to influence and persuade internal and external partners.Must be able to demonstrate sound business judgment and ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders in the organization.Excels in adapting and working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment – flexibility to find innovative ways to accomplish work; excellent project management skills; and ability to manage multiple, complex projects at the same time.Proven ability to develop solid working relationships in a matrix environment; strong problem solving and collaborating skills at all levels of the organization.Professional maturity, sound judgement, discretion, and proven ability to handle confidential information.
