Information reported by the background check will not automatically disqualify you from employment.Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience will report to the Associate Athletic Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience. This position will oversee the marketing plan development and implementation, sponsor activation, and game presentation for Men’s Basketball and Field Hockey. Additional responsibilities include oversight of Assistant Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience; collaborate with Broadcasting & Production unit to develop creative in-game video elements that maximize both student-athlete and fan experience; planning/promotion/execution of Maryland Basketball preseason events, direct involvement in creative fan engagement and branding initiatives. This position will serve as Athletic Department’s liaison to The Pride student group; serve as Maryland Athletics representative on the University’s Maryland Day planning committee, assisting campus constituents in the planning and execution of numerous student and community-focused events, oversight of student worker(s) responsible for Track & Field and Tennis marketing; other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required in sports management, marketing, advertising or other related field.A minimum of three (3) years of sports marketing experience required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Mail/Docs/Sheets/Etc.Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Preferences:Three (3) years of sports marketing experience at the NCAA Division I or professional sports level.Physical Demands:The scope of the position frequently requires evening and weekend work with some team travel (Non-standard work hours).While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc.; constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 30 pounds.Posting Date:
