New higher pay!Training Pay $20 an hour!At La-Z-Boy we are committed to improving our customers' lives by helping them transform their houses into homes. Designers at La-Z-Boy Furniture are paid salary plus commission on written sales with NO COMMISSION CAP. On average, our Interior Designers earn over $45,000/year with top performers earning over $70k.What will you be doing?Designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that represent client's lifestyle, art taste and budget. More specifically:In-Home Design:Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of a professional installation service.Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and research customer payments and deliveries.Support design related functions in the store and maintain an up-to-date customized portfolio including before and after pictures of previous In-Home design projects.Sales Culture and PromotionsDrive sales to consistently achieve established sales goals.Team with selling team to promote the In-Home Design program and drive overall store sales.Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product line.People DevelopmentTrain, coach and develop Design Associates on product knowledge and selling skills to achieve store sales goals.Assist with training, coaching and developing the selling team.Lead with the highest ethical standards and demand the same from their teams.Store Standards / Operations:Adhere to general store operational procedures and guidelines.May be responsible for opening and closing of the store.Be willing and able to jump into every sale and close it.Designers pay plan$20 an hour training pay (no commission) first 3-4 weeks, after training $35,000 per year paid bi-weekly plus commission:3.5% of Net Written Design Sales and 2% on entered written sales other than La-Z-Boy Design sales.Qualifications:Associates in Interior Design or related field, or equivalent experience.18 years or older.Professional dress and appearance.Available evenings, weekends, and most holidays - we're closed Christmas, Thanksgiving & Easter!Reliable vehicle with driver's license - you'll be paid mileage.Minimum Job Requirements:Bachelors degree in Interior Design with one (1) to two (2) years experience strongly preferred or a minimum of five (5) years design experience in a comparable home furnishings role.CIDA accreditation and/or ASID membership preferred.Experience in using floor and space planning applications.Previous selling experience strongly preferred.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Knowledgeable of general principles of home decor and design (i.e., furniture, carpet, draperies, and color schemes).Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport.Ability to effectively manage time and conflicting priorities.Ability to work effectively and productively with others as a team.Strong attention to detail.Supervisory Responsibilities:
