DSM 520: Managing Technologies for Digital Media

. This course provides an overview of strategies and tactics for development and governance of digital platforms, ranging from social media networks to ecommerce sites. The course involves consideration of ethics, regulations, and organizational objectives across a diverse array of institutions.Position Summary:The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California (USC) invites applications for an Adjunct lecturer position for the Master of Science in Digital Social Media program. The successful candidate will contribute to the specialized topics within the program, including but not limited to User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Product Management, Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI). Additionally, they will be responsible for teaching core program courses such as DSM 510, Introduction to Digital Media and DSM 520, Managing Technologies for Digital Media.Key Responsibilities and Job Expectations:Develop and teach specialized courses in the Master of Science in Digital Social Media program, focusing on topics such as:User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) DesignSearch Engine Optimization (SEO)Product ManagementAnalytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI)Responsible for teaching core program course DSM 520, Managing Technologies for Digital MediaDeliver high-quality instruction that integrates theory with practical applications, preparing students for careers in digital media industries.Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters critical thinking and creativity among students.Ability to engage with diverse student populations and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.Experience working in or closely with digital media industries is highly desirable.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and industry partners.Qualifications:Education: A graduate degree in communication, business, education, or related disciplines is ideal but not required. Candidate should also have demonstrated expertise in digital media.

Teaching: Teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional levels, with strong student evaluations. Candidate must have proven experience engaging with diverse student populations and contributing to a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.

Professional Experience: Minimum 10 years of recent experience as an executive, entrepreneur, or consultant in digital media or a related field.
