Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Position Description:Provides strategic direction on communications and marketing projects and issues both internal and external to Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with other organization leaders to align with organizational goals and achieve successful outcomes that build the Goodwill brand. Represents and promotes the organization, increasing its visibility and supporting its mission, vision, and goals. In addition to leading Goodwill’s central team of marketing and communications professionals, provides strategic direction for marketing and communications produced by other departments and business units.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops the voice of the organization, leading the seamless integration of a single voice and brand across all internal and external communications.Owns and updates the brand guidelines and identity based on the evolving brand strategy. Implements and guides brand application with creative, marketing, and communications teams.Builds and maintains a methodology for measuring brand health, tracking the ROI of campaigns and initiatives, and tracking tactics.Recognizes and responds to proactive and reactive communications opportunities, enhancing the organization’s image and advancing its values and goals.Enhances Goodwill’s reputation through commitment to its mission and values and positive relationships with external partners.Cultivates and supports a high performing team that demonstrates responsiveness, innovation, and collaboration in marketing and communications duties.Builds the brand through the development and deployment of a sophisticated marketing and communications plan that advances its mission and values.Guides the creation of communication tools and materials that effectively position GCNA as the regional leader in both career and business services and the thrift retail and donated goods business.Ensures GCNA’s programs, events, public announcements, and projects garner positive coverage and are communicated effectively to key audiences through a variety of persuasive strategies.Maintains excellent relations with the media and creates opportunities for GCNA to be turned to for comment and engagement on issues of importance to GCNA and its key audiences.When appropriate, acts as spokesperson for GCNA.Effectively manages Contractors supporting GCNA’s marketing and communications activities, ensuring they have the information and support they need to execute the responsibilities of their contract(s).Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.Models Goodwill Core Values – Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.Performs other related duties, as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media relations, or another related field, or equivalent experience with in a marketing leadership role.Minimum of 15 years combined experience in marketing, advertising, corporate communications and media relations.Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading the marketing function of a large organization.Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team of full-time professionals.Proven track record collaborating with agencies as well as a wide array of internal teams.Ability to deal professionally in a corporate and not-for-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding communications and marketing projects and programs from inception through completion.Strong ability to think strategically and build business growth plans.Strong history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility and partnering with department leaders and peers.Judgment and critical thinking are applied to all planning and implementation of communications tactics including crisis communications.Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills, including news, business and persuasive writing.Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills including proven effectiveness in one-on-one, group communications and media relations.Demonstrated project management skills and strong attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time pressure and deadlines.Strong MS Office skills.Valid drivers’ license and clean MVR.Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.Ability to speak and read English proficiently.You will be eligible for a comprehensive Total Rewards package, 1st of the month following 60 days of employment that includes the following:5 Medical PlansEmployer Funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)3 Dental PlansVision Plan401K (Immediate participation upon hire)Employer Paid Life InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off; Sick and VacationPaid HolidaysThese are just a few highlights of our key benefit offerings!Become a valuable part of our team and work for a company which has been named a Best Place to work by the Phoenix Business Journal 4 out of the last 5 years.
