For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.The Director of Corporate Communications' primary responsibility is to proactively lead corporate communications initiatives both internally and externally. To form a competitive employer brand and build brand trust with key audiences through constant communication. The Director of Corporate Communications works with communication strategists, specialists, creative team, various program directors and stakeholders within the business in order to develop suitable communication plans and strategies. The Director of Corporate Communications ensures the communications team and work output supports the executive leadership team and initiatives stay consistent with Heartland's values, culture and business objectives. This person is the primary point of contact for media relations for all external corporate communications needs including, PR, interviews, sponsorships and other communications oriented projects.Duties

Lead Corporate Communications TeamEnsure sales reps are fully informed, including product updates and incentive campaignsCommunication strategist for President and partner for the executive leadership teamManage brand reputationGet company and leaders featured on TV, internet and key publicationsThrough strong leadership, envision and inspire team membersDrive corporate strategies and message development, pitch new ideas and approach projects with a growth mindsetEnsure opportunities for the President are fully vettedDevelop a cohesive communications strategy to position Heartland as a leading financial technology companyAssemble and oversee a diversely skilled communications teamCrisis management, preemptive planning, and communicationCultivate an environment of readiness and alertnessMaintain an awareness of company risks, threats, and monitor brandProject a positive company image to the public with strong employer brandingManage media relationsManage communications budgetEnsure high-quality control of all information releasedPromote a culture of innovation and appropriate change to continually improve communicationBuild strong relationships with leaders throughout the businessPromote team collaboration through collaborative leadershipManage all corporate communication channels to constantly promote culture and business prioritiesDevelop plans and methods to ensure communication is not dependent on specific people and can scale easilyManage and create content to promote events, inspire and educate Heartland team members and the communityProtect and maintain corporate culture, marketing/communications overall team cultureMonitor communication effectiveness and work to improve key metricsPrimary owner of the company intranet, newsletter, and internal social media programsEnsure communication is relevant to employees and meets high standardsEnsure corporate communications initiatives are part of all social media channels and properly scheduled with marketing teamCreate content as neededJob Requirements
