PR Specialist, Issues Management, Core Retail and Stores Trust and Reputation Amazon is looking for a strategic PR Specialist to join our Core Retail and Stores Trust and Reputation PR team, focusing on issues management. This individual should be a self-motivated and high-judgment PR professional who will be responsible for managing issues and media relations across the core retail shopping experience.

This individual must be able to think quickly and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders to address complicated scenarios. The role is never boring and requires a team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.In this role, you will work in a matrixed global organization, quickly building cross-functional working relationships. You will have an understanding of working with media on high-stakes matters, be an excellent writer, have an awareness of how to manage business-critical issues, and exercise good judgment while having a bias for action. Understand Amazon’s retail business with a finger on the pulse of industry trends and the evolving media landscapeSuccessfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactivelyHelp with end-to-end development and execution of business-critical communications programsManage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected reputation issues with high judgment and professionalismDevelop and strengthen relationships with key journalists and analysts in consumer, technology, and business pressHelp develop external facing reactive messagingCollaborate with PR colleagues globallyEffectively represent Amazon as a spokespersonEffectively track and monitor all media engagement, messaging, and news cyclesHelp manage external PR firms as necessaryPay unrelenting attention to detailsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experienceBachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related fieldExperience with fast-moving or negative media cyclesExperience in issues managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ability to self-motivate and work autonomously at timesOutstanding attention to detail, bias for action, and exemplary standards in all aspects of workThrive in a collaborative but often ambiguous environmentStrong judgment and ability to make decisions in real-time
