Marketing Cloud Administrator

who will design, develop, and maintain robust alumni and donor marketing campaigns, including email marketing delivery, journeys and automation best practices.Alumni Engagement at Boston UniversityThe Alumni Engagement team is dedicated to understanding alumni, strengthening pride and awareness, and facilitating ways to grow and sustain the base of alumni engaging with and supporting Boston University. The team has oversight of alumni digital strategy, alumni experience operations, and measuring engagement-through both attitudinal and behavioral dimensions-of more than 350,000 alumni across the globe. This team works in close collaboration with colleagues in the Office of Development & Alumni Relations, and across departments and schools at Boston University.Marketing Cloud AdministratorThis role will serve as a primary administrator for Marketing Cloud for Boston University Development & Alumni Relations (DAR). In this position, you will be part of a high-performing and collaborative team. As DAR converts to Marketing Cloud, this role will be essential with branding and email platform adoption, ensuring data lists are synced with Salesforce database and available for use at any time, driving innovation in the areas of integrated, multi-channel communication flows, including SMS, video, and phone. Assists with form building, event requests, and event attendance reporting as needed.Responsibilities:The Marketing Cloud Administrator role is primarily responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing Salesforce marketing cloud environment. You will partner with Salesforce and DAR marketing teams to design solution that ensures maximum utilization of marketing cloud platform and achieves engagement goals, including the design and implementation of complex Marketing Cloud automation workflows.Collaborate with the Salesforce implementation team to ensure effective development of Marketing Cloud platform for DAR.Configure, manage, and support Marketing Cloud environment including but not limited to journeys, data extensions, users, user roles, connectors, and integrations.Help prepare dataset for email marketing and maintain synchronized data from Salesforce CRM to Marketing Cloud and from other technology platformsKeep up to date with Marketing Cloud releases, proactively research and make recommendations to optimize marketing activities through new featuresProvide technical guidance and training for building sophisticated email campaigns and customer journeyDevelop test and measurement strategy with marketing team to track success of marketing campaigns.Support and maintain Preference Center and rules within Marketing Cloud to give DAR users better management with college communications messages and engagement. Ensure a nuanced ability for external constituents to opt out of some college communications while not opting out of all, including university compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other privacy regulations.Assist in planning and releasing segmented communications channels and flow for alumni engagement lifecycle.Prepare profiles of key targets that provide broad overview listing attributes of Boston University alums.Required SkillsQualifications

:Required:5+ years of relevant experienceUndergraduate degree or higher in marketing, computer science, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. Marketing Cloud certifications strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of best practice marketing design techniques, basic knowledge of HTML,Technical expertise regarding audience segmentation, data models, and data miningStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze information, especially related to marketing metrics, with an ability to communicate to business leaders. Must be adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.Preferred:Prior experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including certifications.Overall email marketing and campaign automation experience.Experience with SFMC Journey Builder, Email Studio, Contact Builder, Interaction Studio, and using Salesforce Data ExtensionsExperience with APM script, APIs and/or SQL queries.Strong interpersonal skillsJob Location:
