General Manager and VP of Sales & Marketing
Summary:
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the Shadow Mountain sales and marketing strategies, plans, and programs primarily designed to increase sales throughout the facility. This includes implementing the established sales and marketing calendar, event sales at the newly renovated clubhouse, simulator/game room, flamingo putting green, and community engagement.
Essential Job Functions:
Implements established marketing calendar for 2024 and 2025 and subsequent years, to increase Shadow Mountain awareness and positive perception in the Palm Desert community.
Develops strong customer and community relations in the Palm Desert community through frequent communication and the use of social media, email, and interpersonal interaction.
Implement outbound and inbound marketing ad plan as established in 2024 and 2025 Shadow Mountain sales and marketing plan.
Keep Shadow Mountain website current with all updated course information, promotions, and events.
Keep marketing collateral and signage up to date in the restaurant, online, and in the golf shop.
Lead online promotion of Shadow Mountain events, Birdy Bar & Grill promotions, and other activities at the course.
Lead collaboration, creation, and distribution of all course emails and newsletters.
Take photos of special events and save to be used for social media and newsletters.
Lead Shadow Mountain brand awareness in the community by attending local civic and business association meetings (Chamber of Commerce, local Non-Profit organizations, and business leads organizations).
Complete Touchstone Golf CED (Customer engagement program) report monthly.
Manage and post on Social media. Minimum of 2 posts and 2 videos per week, per outlet.
Create and promote all Birdy Bar & Grill, Private Event, and Tournament menus and packages.
Conduct venue (Banquet Space, Birdy Bar & Grill, Game Room, Flamingo, Golf Course, Geno’s Bar and Pavilion) tours for prospective event clients. Contract and detail all private events and tournaments.
Develop customer profiles within Shadow Mountain CRM and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior customer service and increased revenues.
Conduct periodic market research to provide information essential for revising current programs, which enhance the facility’s competitiveness in the marketplace.
Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required operational, financial, budgetary, and related marketing and sales reports as required by course management and the Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and crouch.
Qualifications:
3+ years of sales experience preferably in the hospitality industry.
Friendly demeanor with experience in customer service.
Self-starter who is outgoing and able to perform cold-calls to generate business.
