In support of this mission, GW Business seeks a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist to advance the School of Business by working collaboratively within the school and across the university to elevate the academic reputation, enrollment efforts, alumni engagement, research enterprise, and connect the GW Business community of students, faculty, and staff with high-quality information and experiences. The school is seeking to add a new team member with a passion for making an impact through their career.

The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist creates and manages messaging for and dissemination of executive communications, school-wide written reports, email newsletters and campaigns, and content for the school’s social media presence. This role drafts, edits, and disseminates communications on behalf of school leadership, including monthly Dean’s email messages, monthly DEI email updates, and scripts and remarks for delivery at events throughout the year. Additionally, the role manages an editorial calendar of content for social media, crafting and publishing on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn.Responsibilities:Executive Communications and Written Reports

Create and manage messaging for executive communications and school-wide written reports.Draft, edit, and disseminate communications on behalf of school leadership, including monthly Dean’s email messages and DEI updates.

Email Newsletters and Campaigns

Develop and manage email newsletters and campaigns to engage the GW Business community.

Social Media Management

Manage an editorial calendar of content for social media platforms.Craft and publish content on Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn.Monitor social media for mentions of the school, flagging relevant mentions to units and individuals as needed.Identify opportunities for broader engagement with GWSB’s audience and GW’s larger social media presence.

Social Media Analytics and Performance Improvement

Review social media analytics and develop actions to improve content and campaign performance.

Leadership and Collaboration

Provide leadership to student workers in their creation of marketing deliverables.Collaborate with the GW Marketing and Communications team located a few blocks away at “Western Market” at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave, NW.

The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.This position is a hybrid position located within the GW School of Business in Washington, D.C., just two blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro (Orange, Silver, Blue lines).Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Preferred Qualifications:Strong organizational and operational skills to oversee and complete multiple complex projects working in parallel.Knowledge of contemporary trends and techniques in marketing, particularly digital marketing.Experience in marketing and communications in higher education is a plus.Able to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, facilitate decision-making, and maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty, and vendors with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.Exceptional judgment and demonstrated background writing across audiences and platforms with a detailed content editor’s eye, highly organized management skills, and polished and inclusive communication style across audiences.A background in marketing and communications from higher education institutions and/or organizations leveraging digital marketing tools and software to amplify authentic messaging from leadership, students, alumni, and thought leaders.GW offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance, time off & leave, retirement savings, tuition, well-being and various voluntary benefits.
