At least six years’ experience in a newsroom is expected. You’ll report to the Executive Editor.Functions will include:Generate and pitch story ideas from concept through to broadcast for television news.Work under extreme time pressures and meet multiple daily deadlines to produce clear and accurate TV news content.Confidently report live on all breaking news events.Step in for the Executive Producer or Supervising Producer when necessary.Actively participate in editorial decisions, identifying and pitching compelling stories relevant to our audience.What are we looking for in a Reporter/Producer? What’s important?Solid news judgement, logistically savvy with TV news reporting.Strong communication skills tailored for television, both on-air and off.Ability to make quick, accurate decisions under extreme pressure, in line with TV news deadlines.Experience as a television news journalist, with a strong track record in TV news reporting.In-depth understanding of local, national, and international issues, with a focus on creating TV content for multiple audiences across different platforms.Knowledge of ENPS and non-linear editing, with a specific emphasis on TV news production.Flexibility to work across different shifts, including some weekends, to meet the demands of TV news coverage.Why Paramount?We could just list the numerous benefits our employees avail of every day.
