The successful candidate will serve two roles: as the unit lead for the work and staff in theCollections, Access, and Processing Department (CAPS) and as a member of the Reference,Instruction, & Outreach Services (RIOS) librarian team directing the collection management work of subject liaison librarians. The position will have the following core responsibilities:

Direct and oversee the work of Library Services Specialist staff and/or student workers in the Collections, Acquisitions, and Processing (CAPS) unit;

Collaborate with Open Educational Resources (OER) librarian on managing purchases for the Affordable Learning $olutions (AL$) program;

Collaborate with the Digital Initiatives Librarian on CSU-wide open access initiatives and cataloging of CSUDH theses and dissertations;

Communicate effectively with the Electronic Resources Librarian regarding new electronic acquisitions in order to ensure access;

Coordinate the process of subject liaison librarian selection and deselection, including providing training as needed and overseeing the creation and maintenance of approval and demand-driven-acquisition profiles;

Work with vendors and consortia to identify products, arrange trials, and negotiate licenses for resources;

Monitor library acquisitions budgets and provide recommendations to the Dean of the Library on collections spending;

Participate in departmental efforts in information literacy, including student learning outcomes assessment and teaching in the general education program;

Effectively provide research help through general reference services that include instant message chat, phone, email, in-person, and individual research consultations;

Participate in department outreach to new students and other university community populations as part of the RIOS team;

Engage in scholarship and service to the university and profession
