DescriptionThe Visual Shopping (Videos) team is on a mission to revolutionize the customer shopping journey by integrating informative and engaging product video contents. We're dedicated to making shopping more immersive and effortless, empowering customers to discover and evaluate products like never before. We aim to understand and recommend the most relevant video content to customers, aligning seamlessly with their shopping intents. To achieve this vision, we're seeking an Applied Scientist with deep expertise in Machine Learning, particularly in Deep Learning, Recommender Systems, or Computer Vision. By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the shopping experience for millions of Amazon customers, redefining what's possible through the strategic integration of video throughout the customer journey.Key job responsibilities- Work backwards from customer needs to investigate and solve key problems and challenges in video understanding, video retrieval, and video recommendation.- Innovate and leverage state-of-the-art machine learning science advancements to bring novel experiences to customers.- Research and develop scalable machine learning solutions for millions of customers.About the teamThe Amazon Visual Shopping team aims to revolutionize the way customers shop online. Through innovative solutions like Amazon Lens, More Like This, Augmented Reality(AR) View in Your Room, and Videos in Search, we empower customers to effortlessly discover and evaluate items that truly resonate with them. Our Visual Search capabilities enable customers to shop directly from images, seamlessly translating visual inspiration into purchasing intent. Our AR solutions allow customers to visualize products in their space, building confidence in their purchasing decisions. Our Videos solutions equip customers with the information they need to explore and understand products through relevant product videos.Basic Qualifications- PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language- 3+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience- Skill and experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, or recommendation systemPreferred Qualifications- Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly with respect to computer vision algorithms- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals- Skill and experience with multimodal learning or video understanding; experiences with large scale online experimentsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
