DescriptionAre you a seasoned UX Researcher, passionate about new technologies, driving change through data, and using customer obsessed design processes to create products and services.We're on a journey to build something new! The Vehicle Sales team is looking for a thoughtful and passionate UX Researcher who sees technology as a way to re-imagine the car buying process. We are building new research, discovery, and shopping products that can connect customers to their car of choice. Our goal is to simplify the car buying process and our group functions as a start-up within Amazon. We offer a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation.Your research will help our teams make critical product feature decisions and uncover new insights. You will lean into your expertise to navigating ambiguity. This role requires a desire to learn and be curious, the ability to communicate your ideas effectively, and to be able to act decisively in order to move quickly. As innovators, we embrace new technology, and in this role, you will be empowered to choose the necessary methodologies to help us better understand our customers.Key job responsibilitiesIndependently lead UX research initiatives (i.e., user interviews, remote usability testing, surveys, card sort, tree tests, etc.) with a particular focus on customer experience improvementsOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of the study design, including recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, and communicating research initiatives.Work from high-level requirements and ask the right questions to gather all relevant information to guide research approach.Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders — senior leadership, engineers, product managers, UX designers and other researchers.Present insights across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.Stay current on emerging research, industry, and technology trends.About the teamThis role is with a new line of business with a vision to create innovative automotive discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for cars online.Basic Qualifications5+ years experience conducting user research or equivalent experience.Hands-on experience with lab-based user testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, field research, international research, and survey design.UX Research experience in non-US markets.Preferred QualificationsSolid understanding of the product development cycle, and the relationship between business, UX, technology and the role of user research.Working knowledge in mixed-method (qualitative and quantitative) research.Experience in working with vendors (i.e. assessing proposals, budget considerations, contracts, etc)BA/BS in psychology, sociology, anthropology, human computer interaction or related discipline.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
