Minimum qualifications:+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.+ 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.+ 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.+ Experience programming in C and C++.+ Experience in one of the following: video compression, computer vision, image processing, machine learning, real time communication.Preferred qualifications:+ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.+ Experience developing accessible technologies.+ Experience in signal or image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, machine learning, probability theory, and applied mathematics.+ Attention to detail, entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, collaborative, and passion for and understanding of Google products.Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google (oogle.com/benefits/) .+ Innovate practical new technologies and algorithms - including both conventional and machine-learning based compression methods.+ Perform rapid prototyping and smart implementation of developed algorithms, while addressing challenges.+ Work with various partners in the Alliance for Open Media (AOM) consortium, to have the technologies standardized in a next-generation royalty-free video standard.+ Manage the productization and release of the new codec standard in Google products and services, across multiple product areas such as YouTube, Chrome, Meet, Photos and so on.+ Manage the distribution of knowledge through papers, patents, standard proposals and talks.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
