We look forward to meeting you.To learn more about Mission Technologies, click here for a short video: om/732533072Who We AreWe are seeking a Specification Writer to develop procedures for manuals covering the operation, maintenance, training, and qualification of equipment and systems on Navy nuclear-powered submarines.In this role, the Specification Writer will review technical documentation and procedures provided by vendors and system/equipment design agencies for new or modernized systems installed on submarines. This involves creating standardized procedures and manuals to support sailors and maintenance personnel in maintaining and testing these systems.What You Will Do+ Maintains customer specifications files+ Reviews customer drawings and data+ Translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow+ Collaborate with other writers, engineers, supply vendors, and the Navy to ensure that the most accurate and useful information is available to the submarine fleet.+ Maintain the maintenance manual for over 3,500 different valves used on current submarines, including updating drawings and repair procedures.+ Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheetsWhat You Must Have+ High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.+ Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential security clearance.+ Candidate must have knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.+ Candidate must have background experience in shipboard electrical distribution systems, mechanical and auxiliary systems, or Naval Nuclear Power operational experience.+ Candidate must be able to read drawings, communicate clearly and write procedures to assemble and disassemble equipment+ Candidate should be able to work independently but also work well on a team.Bonus Points For Having!+ Experience using Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) is highly desired.Physical RequirementsJob performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment.
