SC CTSI develops and provides resources, services, trainings and tools in support of researchers, academic leadership and partners that collaborate to achieve this exciting mission.Join our team as theBERD Statistician!Summary:The Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Statistician will perform data management and statistical analysis under the direction of BERD faculty or senior staff and clinician investigators for complex research projects. The BERD statistician will communicate with investigators to understand and advise on scientific questions, database structures, analysis needs, and analytic results; develop charts, graphs and tables to display results; assist in writing statistical methods and results for IRB applications, scientific abstracts, and publications. The BERD statistician may also develops research databases; may lead data entry staff, as assigned.Key Responsibilities:+ Evaluates, recommends and implements procedures for data management and quality control. Develops input methodology and data file structure. Oversees data entry and maintenance of data files, including backups and hard copies.+ Provides guidance to data entry staff, as assigned. Schedules, assigns and prioritizes workloads. Sets appropriate deadlines. Monitors employee performance on day-to-day basis. Ensures timely completion of work.+ Performs data analysis using statistical methods. Reviews results for anomalies, investigates to determine cause, and makes corrections if necessary. Assists in interpretation of results and prepares tables or graphs for inclusion in reports and research papers.+ Assists in preparation of technical reports and papers on the research project's statistical methods and results. Assists Principal Investigators in writing scholarly empirical papers for publication and presentation.+ Keeps informed of developments in field. Reads journals and other relevant publications, attends professional association meetings and seminars as appropriate.+ Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.Preferred Education, Experience and Field of Expertise:+ Master’s Degree+ Combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education+ Minimum 2 years of experience, Combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum experience+ Biostatistics, Statistics or equivalent degree+ Computing experience+ Experience with SAS, SPSS, Stata, and/or R+ Effective communication skills - written and oral+ Experienced with statistical consulting, leadership and guidance skills+ Skilled with problem identification and resolution+ Statistical analysis experienceThe annual base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $85,379.64.
