With Northrop Grumman, you’ll have the opportunity to be an essential part of projects that will define your career, now and in the future.**Job Description**A Technical Editor and Writer is responsible to write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively, technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences to include military personnel. This position requires the initiative to acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. This position also requires the active participation in overseeing the preparation of illustrative materials, to include the selection of drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Furthermore, this position requires quality reviews of technical manuals.**Qualifications****Basic Qualifications**6 Years with Bachelors OR 10 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must be able to attain a Secret clearance.**Preferred Qualifications:** Previous IETM authoring and development experience. Familiar with unmanned aircraft & ground segment systems such as Interim COMSEC Solutions (ICS) are highly desirable. Lead experience using AGILE & JIRA best practices. General understanding of S1000D, SGML or XML authoring software, common source database, and technical publications development processes.**Knowledge, Skills and Ability:** Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. **Independently** demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.**Problem Solving:** Develops solutions to a variety of **complex** problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.**Discretion/Latitude:** Performs **fairly complex** tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.**Impact:** Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a **serious effect** upon the administration of the organization.**Salary Range:** $69,600 - $104,400The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
