If your answer is yes, FirstBank is the number one place for you.A Brief OverviewThe Investor Accountant is responsible for preparing accounting reports and remitting funds to investors on sold loans in compliance with the contracted terms of individual agreements. In addition, prepare checks, initiate wire transfers, maintain accurate loan accounting records and maintain/reconcile general ledger and Custodial Checking Accounts.What You'll Need to SucceedDaily prepares remittances for investors and manages mortgage-backed securities pool remittances (Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac)Monitors service fee income and prepares monthly analysis of service fee income accountsPrepares required journal entries related to Service fee Income accounts and performs monthly variance analysis for these accountsPerform all journal entries related to investor accountingPrepares monthly reports for insurance coverage calculationPrepares quarterly reportsPrepares account reconciliationsProcessing Black Knight Disbursement Reports vs. Loan Activity Reports (S/S, S/A) Private Portfolios, BPPR, Oriental, AEELA, MOEX CMO's etc.Process third-party loan repurchases, (Loss Mitigation, Quality Control, Delinquency)Performing processes related to Servicing Release transactions includes escrow transfers, etc.Managing (Bank) Portfolio Loans accordingly to (Category-Investor) classifications at the Investor Level and performing necessary procedures for Third-Party Repurchase transactions inclusive of funding Clearing and/or Custodial AccountsProcessing Black Knight System Delinquency Section updates related to new Real Estate Owned (REO) properties, with corresponding Book-Balance/UPB transactions to the subsidiary with MSP Transactions 43 & 47 inclusive of Third-Party assets (DENK)Performing the checking and processing of accounting related transactions in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.Maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.Processing transactions quickly and accurately and processing workloads according to the specified time frames.Acquiring and maintaining a good working knowledge of the Bank's accounting functions and systemsAssist as required in the timely and accurate preparation of reports/returns required internally or by local and federal regulatory agenciesMaintaining communication with other units to advice of missing documentation or any other defect preventing the reconciliation of assigned G/L accounts, whenever applicableVerifying the accuracy, completeness and authorization of transactions and maintenance in the Custodial or GL accounts, and documenting errors for subsequent correctionPerform all duties related to the monthly monitoring of the Custodial/GL accounts reconciliations and give the necessary follow up to those outstanding transactions that exceed the aging established for each accountPrepare internal reports as requested and impromptu Investor portfolio information request, (Repurchases, etc.)Record keeping and analytical procedures of custodial cash bank accounts are accurate and free of material misstatementsWorks on special projects/assignments as requested by management.Provides backup during vacations and other personnel leaves.Competencies:The competencies detailed below are the behaviors to be exhibited by the incumbent while performing his/her duties as relates to our corporate values, culture and philosophy.Customer serviceResponds promptly to customer needsResponds to requests for service and assistanceTeamworkBalances team and individual responsibilitiesContributes to building a positive team spiritPuts success of team above own interestsEthicsTreats people with respectKeeps commitmentsInspires the trust of othersWorks with integrity and ethicallyUpholds organizational valuesOrganizational SupportFollows policies and proceduresCompletes administrative tasks correctly and on timeAttendance/PunctualityIs consistently at work and on timeEnsures work responsibilities are covered when absentInitiativeVolunteers readilyAsks for and offers help when neededSeeks increased responsibilitiesUndertakes self-development activitiesQualityDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this job.The incumbent must have at least one (1) year of experience in accounting, preferably in investment accountingComputer proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word)Strong analytical skillsGood oral and written communication skills in Spanish and EnglishAbility to work under pressure and with minimal supervision is also requiredFirst Bank Puerto Rico is a proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and takes affirmative action to employ Women, Protected Veterans, People with Disabilities and Minorities regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, and any other legally protected status.
