Medix is hiring a Prior Authorization specialist for a specialty prescription service in Manhattan, New York! Thanks to recent developments in healthcare data regulation and AI, this organization is able to helps patients get life-changing medicine as quickly and cheaply as possible while handling all the complexity of insurance, financial assistance programs, and pharmacy supply & network issues.
Responsibilities:
Contact insurance companies to verify patient benefits and coverage detailsManage submission of prior authorization requests for prescription medications via ePA, fax, and phoneReview clinical information and ensure all required documentation is included with submissionsDocument and escalate any issues related to prior authorization requests (e.g., need for additional information or documentation from providers)Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companiesManage 40-50 authorizations dailyQualifications:
1+ years of experience working in healthcare operations, particularly in benefits verification, prior authorization, medical billing or codingUnderstanding of medical terminology and insurance processAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsExcellent communication skills and adept at using web-based tools/systemsAbility to work in person in Soho, NYC
