Jackson wants to pay you to shop... for media. That's right. We are seeking a Media Buyer to join our agency team in Greenville, SC. In this role, you would work with multiple national B2B clients, managing campaigns with a mix of roughly 75% digital media and 25% traditional media and campaign budgets ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000+. If you can do all that AND deal with the blank stares you'll inevitably get when explaining to your friends and family what you do for work-well, you just might be the person for the job.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of media or marketing experience, though a candidate with less experience but a desire to learn and grow within the media department may still be considered.

The Media Buyer (MB) provides support to the Media Supervisor (MS) for all client inquiries. The MB works together with the MS on research, planning and placement of media projects, establishing good relationships with all media reps and internal team members. The MB works together with the MS to establish and manage appropriate media buys and budgets, including preparation of presentation materials, media plans or media proposals. The MB attends to all administrative functions and paperwork required to carry out assigned media functions.

The MB is expected to conduct him/herself in a highly professional manner during contact in person or via phone with anyone inside or outside the agency including co-workers, clients or vendors. The MB is expected to provide excellent, courteous customer service and professional expertise.General Purpose:

Support client media needs through analysis, negotiation, placement and management of both digital and traditional media buys.Essential Functions:

Professionally manage media plans, budgets, project deadlines and all aspects of media accounts

Responsible for implementing, optimizing and pacing all in-house digital media buys (social, search, and other self-serve digital media platforms)

Assist MS in media planning functions by providing research, including calling media outlets to obtain information, reviewing media kits or compiling data in report format

Prepare media recommendations, as requested by MS

Maintain all media paperwork; update internal budget and performance tracking documents and media plans/spreadsheets on a regular basis

Enter media schedules into Advantage and client-facing media documents and issuing all media reports for assigned accounts

Compile and interpret media data and statistics

Establish and maintain goodwill and working relationships with external media partners/suppliers

Assist MS in building relationships with a wide variety of media suppliers

Negotiate rates and/or make-goods for all media with external partners

Alert MS or AE of special media offers/placement opportunities

Maintain awareness and record of rate changes, frequency discounts on media vendors

Responsible for helping to maintain media contact database

Maintain all resource and media files and updating constantly

Participate in meetings with media reps

Continuously work to develop professionally by upgrading knowledge and skills through reading, courses and seminars. Committing him/herself to professional growth.

Contribute to the profitability of the media department and the overall growth of the agency

Adhere to all agency guidelines as set forth in the company manual

Internal customer service is high priority - serve co-workers as if they were our clients

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Required:

Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or other related field

Minimum 2 years of media experience

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Strong attention to detail in all aspects of the job

Ability to multi-task and effectively track many moving parts

Ability to problem solve and think critically- using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Pro-active and open communication skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

Prior Agency experience

Experience with media buying software (Strata, Advantage or SmartPlus)

Experience with self-service DSPs

Experience with Google Tag Manager

Certifications with Google Ads, Meta, and/or other digital media platforms

Travel Requirements

Minimal, less than 10%
