Apparel Technical Designer:The Company is seeking an Apparel Technical Designer with experience in design and construction of technical textile products. The individual will be a contributing member in the design, development, testing and manufacturing of high-performance products for use in the aviation, marine, military and commercial environments. The individual will be expected to troubleshoot creatively, manage priorities, meet timelines, ensure technical targets, develop working relationships that facilitate progress and effectively communicate results strategically focused and targeted towards our customer's critical needs and requirements.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Operate an industrial sewing machine (Single Needle, Serging, Binding Folders, Bartacker, Regular Programmable) or other machinery, to assemble garments according to the appropriate methods and techniques for each productPerform research and development activities that support the company's product lines.Create textile patterns in CAD/Gerber software to meet design specifications and requirementsUtilize industrial equipment to rapidly prototype textile patterns/designsManage the daily actions for various product development or sustaining production projects with the ability to report on progress during routine reviews.Create and maintain accurate and detailed specifications and technical packages that assure accurate development, production, and costing.Work closely with the central R&D team to trial new product technologies, identify critical processing conditions and effectively implement new product technologies into productionRequirements:Minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial textile environment OR technical degree with hands-on construction training and an industrial design background is desiredExperience in patterning using CAD/Gerber software is desiredProven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills is requiredProficiency with Microsoft software (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and AutoCAD is desiredExperience using industrial sewing and embroidery machinery and equipment is a plusKnowledge of construction methods, including adhesive bonding and heat sealing is a plus
