Job Description

The

Sr. Product Marketing Manager

will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our aerial imagery and geospatial content products. This role is responsible for supporting product strategy and innovation, go-to-market and launch activities, developing effective web content, creating written materials for geospatial intelligence products, developing persona insights through customer interviews, crafting the content and direction of the sales playbooks, and supporting enablement and understanding of Nearmap products for our internal teams and external customers. The Sr. Product Marketing Manager will be a key contributor to our product's market positioning and overall success in meeting customer needs.

From market and competitive research, customer development, packaging & pricing research, positioning & messaging, value proposition design, to coordinating the product launch effort, you shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal global customer base. Reporting to the Director of Product, you are the conduit between product, marketing, sales and customer success teams. As part of a global team located across multiple time zones, you take pride in your ability to deliver quality work and have a go-getter mentality to get things done. You will regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams, and you have the diplomatic skills to manage for results..

You understand our industry, competitors, technology roadmap, and the differentiators we bring to the table. You have the ability to understand customers, how they make their buying decisions, as well as their pain-points and workflows. You back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with users to empower our products to be successful. Above all, you have the strategic experience and creative chops to help drive world-class product marketing.

Key Responsibilities:Market & competitive intelligence

- Be the expert of our customers (end-users and buyers); who they are, why they buy, how they buy, and their key buying criteria to inform packaging and pricing; including market and competitive intelligence of your owned industry verticalBuild our knowledge base

- Understand and document our customers, their use cases, buying process, and workflows; and champion and share that knowledge with the business via internal training, battlecards and messaging mapsContent creation

- Develop compelling written and multimedia materials, including web content, product videos, whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, and product documentation, to showcase and effectively communicate the value and applications of our aerial imagery and geospatial content products.Craft our value proposition

- develop competitive positioning and messaging of our products and solutions backed with customer insights and data. Through customer interviews and market research, create detailed persona identities that provide insights into the needs, pain points, and preferences of our target audience. Use these values and personas to guide marketing strategies, roadmap decisions, and product development activities.GTM strategy and execution

- Develop and execute go-to-market plans, including product launches, product positioning, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns, to drive product adoption and revenue growth. Manage the cross-functional implementation and communication of the plan to ensure successful product launches, including coordinating rollout and promotional activities, preparing marketing collateral.Drive product adoption, revenue and retention

- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to create a comprehensive sales playbook that equips our salesforce with the knowledge, messaging, and tools necessary to effectively communicate the value of Nearmap, sell our aerial imagery products, and drive product adoption. This includes preparing high-quality written, presentation, and video materials for sales training programs and customer onboarding to improve the holistic customer experience and drive product adoption.Qualifications

5+ years of proven experience with product marketing, product management, or similar marketing disciplines, within the geospatial or technology industry.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).Experience in SaaS / technology business with a passion for working with emerging technology and exploring the unknownStrong understanding of geospatial intelligence and aerial imagery products and their applicationsProven track record of successfully launching and marketing products.Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities with the ability to develop creative/non-traditional solutions for challenging, undefined problemsAbility to see the the big-picture and execute meticulously down to the detailsYou are a great storyteller, from blogs, product videos, presentations, to webinars, you have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling marketing materials.You know how to ask the right questions and how to best synthesize research finding to actionable insightsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsComfortable juggling priorities and can manage expectations of a wide range of stakeholdersSelf-directed, reliable, trustworthy, and exercises sound judgement based by data and logic
