Internal Communications Specialist.

This individual will be part of a dynamic Communications Office operating at a high pace and handling a significant volume of tasks. They will serve internal stakeholders, including high-profile individuals, while meeting stringent deadlines.The role of an Internal Communications Specialist gains exceptional significance and allure due to the distinctive characteristics of the Court. As the largest trial court nationwide, situated in the epicenter of the entertainment industry, the Los Angeles Superior Court manages a higher volume of high-profile cases than any other court in the nation. Renowned for its leadership in judicial administration at both national and state levels, the Court wields considerable influence through its communications. Additionally, as one of the largest employers in Los Angeles County, with 5,000 employees spread across 36 locations, effective internal communication strategies are both a critical challenge and a top priority.Internal Communications Specialists write, design, produce, edit and maintain written and visual (photographic and video) content for the Court’s internal communications platforms, including for internal publications and strategic communications campaigns and the Court’s website. Serving as one of the Court’s chief internal communicators, a successful candidate will draft, edit and publish written and visual content for an internal audience of court staff and judicial officers. The incumbent will work closely with Court leadership to develop and execute internal communication concepts, including practical bottom-up communication strategies to promote transparency, engagement and alignment among employees and judicial officers. The incumbent will work to produce a weekly newsletter for the Court’s Executive Officer and will work across departments to timely communicate important, often complex information to a broad internal audience.The incumbent will also have an up-to-date grasp on modern visual storytelling to create strategies to target specific internal audiences, broaden the Court’s audience, increase awareness of Court programs and bolster stakeholder engagement.The incumbent will also prepare and reorganize content for website redesign projects according to the Court’s established branding standards, review website and social media analytics, create statistical reports, and make recommendations for improvements. Incumbents collaborate with court managers, users and content contributors to determine objectives for content and design and identify story and content opportunities. Candidates must be well versed in Associated Press Style and have extensive writing and editing experience.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To qualify, you

must

meet one of the following requirements at the time of application:Option I:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, graphic design, or related field.

– AND –

three (3) years of professional experience producing and managing digital media content and administering high-traffic websites.Option II:

Seven (7) years of professional experience producing and managing digital media content and administering high-traffic websites.EDUCATION VERIFICATION:

To receive credit, a legible copy of your college diploma -OR- transcript(s) (unofficial are acceptable) detailing the degree conferred and the name of the educational institution must be attached to your online application. Excellent proficiency in writing, editing, grammar and Associated Press Style.Ability to coordinate projects from inception to completion with knowledge of best communications-based practices, editing, layout, digital content, photo and video production to produce compelling and engaging collateral.Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and timely communications-based deliverables on tight deadlines.Ability to track multiple projects at once leveraging task management systems such as MS Excel, Asana, etc.Experience in developing and executing communication plans that utilize different platforms (such as video, print and digital) to target diverse internal audiences.Professional experience interacting with multiple, high-profile stakeholders while providing excellent customer service.Working knowledge of video production, social media and photography.APPLICATION AND FILING INFORMATION: Applications may only be filed online.
