We are looking for a Design leader to lead Product Design for Amplitude’s full suite of products. You will partner closely with leaders in Product Management, Engineering and Go-To-Market to craft a delightful multi-product experience for our customers. You will be a key member of the Product Development leadership team reporting to the Chief Product Officer. You will manage and lead our talented team of Designers and Researchers, shape our product design strategy, and lead future and visionary design work. This position requires a design leader who thrives in creating clarity, is comfortable navigating complex domains and has experience designing for technical and non-technical users.As Head of Design, you will:Lead, mentor and inspire our product design organization by fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.Be a key member of Product Development Leadership, working closely with engineering, product management, and Go-To-Market to bring our vision to market.Define, direct and influence design strategy and set the design quality bar for the Amplitude suite of products, bringing together multiple product areas into a holistic experience.Define the product design process with Engineering and Product to continuously improve the user experience for thousands of customers by helping them capture the right data to understand and optimize their digital experience.Play a key role in customer, prospect and partner interactions, and be a strong voice for Amplitude in the broader product community.Foster a design culture that encourages rapid design experimentation and strong collaboration across product, engineering, and the business.Champion user research and usability testing to inform design decisions. Use data and user feedback to continuously improve the user experience.Create broad visibility into learnings and impact; develop organization-wide understanding of and enthusiasm for the strategic impact your team delivers to the company.You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:Experience with aligning a design org around our core values of humility, ownership and growth mindset.A successful track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver great product experiences for both technical and non-technical customers.Hired and managed a growing team across multiple levels and skill sets.Exhibited relentless customer focus, and enjoy being a spokesperson for customers and prospects.A strong portfolio showcasing a range of product design work, including web and mobile applications.Operate well in the unknown, and enjoy crafting strategy and vision for a quickly changing industry.Able to lead by showing.
