The Producer will be an essential member of our political show team, responsible for developing engaging content, booking high-profile guests, and crafting scripts that resonate with our audience. This role demands a strong understanding of the political landscape, exceptional journalistic instincts, and the ability to produce content that aligns with UnHerd's unique approach and ethos.
If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.Responsibilities:Research and develop story ideas that align with the show's format and objectivesBook and pre-interview high-profile politicians, experts, and other significant figures in politicsWrite and edit scripts for episodes, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and alignment with our editorial standardsLiaise with the host and production team to coordinate show logisticsBe the on-site liaison for the remote production team and carry out basic production/filming tasksMonitor political events, trends, and developments to ensure our coverage is timely and relevantFoster relationships with political insiders, experts, and other sources to enhance our content's quality and exclusivityClip, package, and promote the show's content and clips on social media
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, or related fieldAt least 5 years of experience in journalism or media production, with a focus on politicsProven track record of booking high-profile guests and developing compelling storylinesStrong understanding of the political landscape, key players, and current issuesExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skillsProven technical production knowledgeTrack record of producing compelling clips/marketing content for similar talk/political showsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesDeep knowledge of and alignment with UnHerd values and mission
