In addition to making announcements, you’ll also be responsible for running the score clock and playing music during games, ensuring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for both players and fans. Under general direction of Coon Rapids Ice Center Manager, this position performs public address announcements for Coon Rapids Ice Center events including, but not limited to, Coon Rapids High School Boys and Girls hockey events and the annual spring ice skating show.The City of Coon Rapids employs a great team of people dedicated and service centered! Announces starting line-ups, public address announcements and intermission contests.Contacts, meets and corresponds with coaches, officials, and other game related staff.Assists with promotions of upcoming ice center events.Maintains positive professional working relationships with all staff levels, public officials, and the general public.Maintains regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary (October – March hockey season).Performs essential position duties and responsibilities under the working conditions and physical demands described herein.Performs other related functions as apparent or delegated.Required Knowledge and Abilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Ability to:Multi-task and react quickly in an appropriate manner in stressful situations.Complete scoresheets and understand statistical data.Track shots, goals and penalties as defined by The Minnesota High School League.Speak effectively in groups of people.Comfortably announce to large groups using a microphone.Use a fax machine and Outlook e-mail proficiency.Deal with unforeseen problems in a calm, collective manner.Be detail oriented and follow through with tasks.Accept criticism or discipline.Work nights and weekends to cover events.Maintain a team and service oriented approach to work.Must have:Strong vocal talent.Thorough knowledge of sports and rules of play.Mathematical aptitude to complete scoresheets and understand statistical data.Must strive to promote a cooperative atmosphere in the department and exhibit a positive attitude.Qualifications and Other Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
