We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join our team and contribute to the development of creative solutions that enhance the brand platform of one of our largest clients. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for designing and executing a range of materials and communication vehicles, with a focus on digital, print, presentation, and long-form design.This role will primarily support our continued work with FEMA, with whom Ogilvy has a long-standing client relationship. Our current work centers around the Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract, which focuses on growing awareness of, and resilience towards natural disasters in American communities.The CERC team is a large, integrated team encompassing a network of behavior change, disaster resilience, risk communications, emergency management, community outreach, partnership building, community planning, and engineering experts to engage a broad array of national and local decision makers and influencers. The team’s work is centered around issues of natural disaster mitigation, climate change adaptation, and capacity building to empower communities to drive resilience.As a passionate designer, you will bring your expertise in typography, layout design, color theory, and storytelling to create compelling designs that make a positive impact on the world. You will thrive in a fast-paced agency environment, where attention to detail and flexibility are essential. Collaborate with the marketing team to translate marketing strategies into on-brand design recommendations and develop concepts that support marketing goalsConceptualize and execute creative ideas efficiently and effectivelyTake initiative in growing allocated tasks/campaigns beyond expectationsInterpret creative direction, brand tone, and style guides to establish visual style and user experiences that communicate effectively with target audiences and fulfill project objectivesEstablish visual style and user experiences that will effectively communicate with target audiences and fulfill project objectivesEnsure proper placement, context, and meaning of every visual element within a creative assignment and be able to speak to itPush the quality of the work until it is pixel perfectAssist creative leads in presenting work to clientsProactively seek approvals from creative leads (as required on a project-by-project basis) on all work before delivery to Account or ClientQuickly gain an understanding of the brand platform, audience segments and organizationWork independently and collaboratively with other Designers and Creative DirectorsCollaborate with other creative staff to share learning and experience and to establish initiatives that will improve Ogilvy’s creative productParticipate in all necessary internal and external meetings, including briefings, status updates, brainstorming sessions, and presentationsPrioritize workload and demonstrate excellent time management skillsStay current with industry/advertising trends and apply them strategicallyContribute to overall office morale, spirit, character, and work qualityRespectfully collaborate with and support colleaguesWhat You’ll Need

5-7 years of advertising/marketing or ad agency experience working in Art Direction and/or DesignYou have several years of experience working with large creative accounts (experience working with government agencies is a plus)You’re comfortable pitching your design work, mature enough to give and take feedback, and talented enough to deliver on assignments big and smallYou are self-motivated and have the ability to function independentlyStrong portfolio that demonstrates significant experience and hard skills in digital, print, presentation, and long-form designYou’re amazing with the latest design and presentation software (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, as well as PowerPoint and Keynote)Portfolio and work samples required
