is looking for a talented and experienced
Expert
VFX Artist
to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for creating high-quality real-time visual FX for characters, environments and gameplay. You will also help refine the VFX pipeline, optimize visual effects for performance and maintain high-quality standards.Daily ResponsibilitiesCreate high quality real-time visual effects- explosions, fire, smoke, clouds, weapons FX, debrisand weather elements.Collaborate with multiple disciplines to support gameplay, cinematics, environments, with VFX requirements.Research new and innovative workflows, push what is possible in VFX.Ensure VFX content is performant and within budgets.Populating environments with VFX.Write and prepare briefs for work with outsource vendors, review work as necessary.Work with directors and Production to estimate and plan work.Mentor other UI artists, and helpbuild an environment of creativity, trust, and excellence.Qualifications
Ability to work independently to identify and own work, deliver results.At least 8years of experience in the gaming industry is preferred.Experience with both real time and baked simulation.Knowledge with standard software: Houdini, Max, Maya, etc..Understanding of PBR concepts.Understanding of rendering techniques, real-time shaders and lighting.Understanding of performance and optimization.Good general knowledge of Maya (or 3ds Max).SideFX Houdini knowledge is a big plus.Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.Additional Information This job requires working in Boston, US.
