If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.SCNG is looking for an Advertising Sales Director to oversee and lead a sales division with revenue responsibility across the Southern California market. In addition, this role will function as the lead sales strategist on top accounts to ensure correct product solutions, pricing, and execution is in place.

What you will do:

Managing a team of Account Executives and Business Development Executives based in the Southern California market.

Lead team performance; focused on new business growth, product revenue performance, regional market share, revenue retention, upsell growth, cross-sell growth, and contribution targets through deal profitability management.

Effectively manage sales pipelines across all direct reports through data-driven performance metrics and KPIs.

Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and account volume forecasting metrics using projected and historical data and trends.

Build and execute strategies to drive new business and revenue growth for new products, while maintaining year-over-year revenue and account base.

Work cross-functionally with Demand Generation, Content Marketing, and Ad Operations on new business and win-back opportunities using historical category, spend, and product performance data to drive lead generation strategies.

Function as the lead sales strategist across all accounts, working in conjunction with direct sellers on product strategy, sales proposals, client analysis, negotiations, and campaign performance reviews.

Work cross-functionally with Ad Operations to ensure workflows and execution align to support client retention efforts.

Drive development on client reporting, analysis, and necessary metrics to ensure customer investment is validated.

Assist on large opportunity client sales calls by providing data and analysis to support campaign recommendations.

Work cross-functionally with Ad Operations on product performance and UI/UX of client-facing platforms.

Build and foster team culture in a remote-first office environment.

Elevate and train members of the team to further knowledge and skills around emerging media trends, data, and insights.

Attract and recruit top talent as positions open to ensure all business is properly supported.

What you will bring:

7+ years in a strategic leadership role with 8 or more direct reports within a sales division for a digital agency, digital publisher, or digital media company managing towards hitting multimillion-dollar annual revenue targets.

Proficient and advanced working knowledge of online and offline media buying tactics with the use of data; 5+ years of experience selling programmatic, search, and social media is required.

Experience building, recruiting, and retaining high-performing talent; must have an understanding of knowledge gaps to source and execute development of the team through training and product certifications.

Proven track record of success in building, owning, and executing long and short-term divisional strategies and tactics.

Knowledge of digital adtech and delivery platforms such as Google Ad Manager and META.

Proficient and advanced working knowledge of reading and optimizing against campaign and performance analytics within platforms such as G360.

Leadership skills, including a “lead by example” management style with the ability to make data-based decisions and own outcomes.

Project management skills with experience in building business plans and presenting to executive teams.

Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate well based on different stakeholders.

Familiarity with Salesforce CRM along with building reports and dashboards; can do independent analysis and reporting using Excel and data exports.

A pulse on the latest trends in the media and advertising landscape.

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deliverables.

Possess a high level of critical thinking skills, project management skills, and communication skills.

Must be located in the LA area with regular onsite expectations in Irvine, CA.

The annual salary range is $135,000 - $145,000. This position is eligible for incentive compensation (commission), and cell phone reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. This role is eligible for a bonus based on performance. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
