One Data Streaming Platform.Data Connects Us.**About the Role:**Confluent is looking for an expert Technical Writer to help document Confluent, a more complete distribution of the Apache Kafka distributed streaming platform. We are looking for a writer with a passion for technology and communication. Confluent has a culture that values documentation, which means you will get contributions from engineers, the community, and more! You will make it easy for developers to build a streaming platform and put it at the heart of every company.**What You Will Do:**+ Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Support, and more to create world-class developer documentation that ensures customer success.+ Produce documentation with unified examples, consistent style, and jaw-dropping quality.+ As a key member of the Product organization, be a user advocate that informs product and feature development.**What You Will Bring:**+ 10+ years experience writing technical documentation for an external developer audience.+ Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.+ Ability to work in a modern documentation toolchain, including GitHub experience.+ Experience using Markdown, reStructuredText, or equivalent.+ Experience reading code in languages such as Java or Python+ Experience using or documenting distributed systems technologies.+ Proven track record of coming up with systematic solutions that others can utilize to efficiently build other experiences that feel cohesive.+ Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Learning Technology, or related field.**What Gives You an Edge:**+ Demonstrated portfolio of work that sets the bar for technical documentation.+ Mastery of docs DevOps processes and tooling.**Come As You Are**At Confluent, equality is a core tenet of our culture. This position has an annual estimated salary of $146,800 - $172,530, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
