We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Coordinator to join the National Geographic Publicity team. In this role, you will work directly under the Sr. Director, supporting the daily administrative operations of our documentary films' publicity efforts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating with others, and is eager to learn the intricacies of strategic communications within the world of documentary filmmaking.**Responsibilities:**+ Set up and manage internal and external meetings, including conference calls with agencies, partners, and filmmakers.+ Collaborate with internal and external teams to gather information and assets as needed.+ Maintain departmental trackers, timelines, and manage all recordkeeping.+ Assist in drafting press materials and ensure press materials and press sites are up to date.+ Coordinate talent travel and appearances, ensuring schedules are detailed and current.+ Work with internal teams to request and track assets, such as clips, creative content, and social media materials.+ Provide support during virtual and in-person events and publicity tours, including interviews, premieres, festivals, theatrical Q&As, and more.+ Pitch documentary content to key press outlets and build relationships with members of the documentary community.+ Assist at events in various capacities, including check-in, setup, and car coordination.+ Compile and distribute press updates internally and externally.+ Create presentations and agendas for internal meetings as needed.+ Support the team on specific projects, including content pitching, brainstorming ideas, event staffing, asset gathering, and coordinating mailings.**Basic Qualifications:**+ 1+ years of experience in public relations, media, or a related field.+ Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.+ Strong interest in documentary film.+ Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise strong judgment.+ Must be proactive, reliable, resourceful, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.+ Ability to manage multiple tasks, shift priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.+ Strong verbal and writing skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver information effectively and rapidly to audiences and constituents both internally and externally, for a multi-business global company.+ A “can-do” approach and attentive professional demeanor, in support of a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-stakes business.+ Flexibility to work overtime as needed.**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Experience working at events is preferred.+ Experience preparing media lists.**Required Education:**+ Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism or equivalent work experience.The hiring range for this position in Washington, DC is $51,200 to 70,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
