**Overview**TECHNICAL WRITER- SENIOR (SIOP-2024-21409):Bowhead is seeking a Technical Writer- Seniorto join our team in providing program management support in a broad range of technical documentation services to the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP) and assisting our US Navy clients in the execution of the SIOP mission. SIOP is chartered with modernizing the infrastructure at four public shipyards in Pearl Harbor HI, Puget Sound WA, Kittery ME, and Portsmouth VA.**Responsibilities**The Technical Writer- Senior creates and publishes technical documentation and manuals. Collects and interprets technical data or information and coordinates layout for publication. The Technical Writer- Senior may also provide meeting support.Job duties include but are not limited to:+ Edit, format, and maintain program documentation and produce a program document guide;+ Provide master planning, studies, and project development support;+ Work with teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of scientific and technical information, documentation content, and requirements.+ Work with internal teams to obtain documentation requirements.+ Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.+ Perform other duties as assigned.**Qualifications**+ BA/BS in English or relevant field plus five to eight (5-8) years of technical writing experience is highly preferred. Additional years experience may be substituted for degree.+ Experience editing technical paper and publications in a government environment plus knowledge of working with scientific and technical subject matter is preferred.+ Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.Target salary is $90,000/year to $120,000/year, commensurate with experienceSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
