Ridgefield Park NJ USA-M-Thurs in office Friday remoteTop Skills:Primary ResearchData AnalysisProject ManagementSummary:The main function of a marketing manager is to lead the research of market conditions in local regional or national areas to determine potential sales of a product or service. A typical marketing manager is responsible for gathering information on competitors and methods of marketing and distribution.Job Responsibilities:Advise business and other groups on local national and international factors affecting the buying and selling of products and services.Confer with legal staff to resolve problems such as copyright infringement and royalty sharing with outside producers and distributors.Develop pricing strategies balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.Direct the hiring training and performance evaluations of marketing and sales staff and oversee their daily activities.Evaluate the financial aspects of product development such as budgets expenditures research and development appropriations and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.Formulate direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services working with advertising and promotion managers.Identify develop and evaluate marketing strategy based on knowledge of establishment objectives market characteristics and cost and markup factors.Negotiate contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution establishing distribution networks and developing distribution strategies.Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products lines or services analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.Skills:Verbal and written communication skills negotiation skills customer service and interpersonal skills.Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time.Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.Strong knowledge of principles and methods for showing promoting and selling products or services.Strong ability to develop marketing and pricing strategy.Strong knowledge of media production communication and dissemination techniques and methods.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent training required.5-7 years related experience required.Key Notes and Attributes:ResponsibilitiesSupport in delivering Shopper and Retail Insights learning plan based on business needs and priorities through Primary and secondary research.• Conduct Primary and leverage Secondary research to provide actionable insights while independently managing most research set-up with support and guidance from manager on more complex studies• Develop comprehensive research brief that includes detailed learning areas and action standards with stakeholder buy-in• Manage project set up by:• Partnering with key stakeholders to gather key inputs and stim for testing• Supporting questionnaire set up design and internal reviews and quality checks• Project management and timelines of key phases and deliverables• Determine and recommend best research methodology to address business questions• Identify best vendor through appropriate RFP process multi-vendor proposal review• Analyze and interpret data providing learnings that will bring value to the business• Deliver strong insights in story-like presentation format that addresses all research objectives and includes actionable recommendationsResearch Capabilities• Comprehensive up to date research and analytical techniques and methodologies notably Primary research quantitative and qualitative. Syndicated research e.g.IRI Circana Nielsen experience a plus• Superior Shopper focused Insights experience Shopper Marketing/ Channel Marketing experience a plus• Experience managing online research community a plus• Ability to triangulate data and insights from different sources to drive consultative decision making.Qualifications• Bachelors degree in business administration marketing product management sales or related field.• 5-7 years experience analyzing consumer data and providing insights that drive business including research methods and statistics.Skills:marketing managementExperience Level:Entry LevelAbout TEKsystems:We're partners in transformation.
