The Assistant carries out a range of duties under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Counsel and four other attorneys. The position assists attorneys with all facets of administrative support for the Ad Sales Legal team which supports the Disney Advertising Sales (DAS) business segment. DAS is responsible for selling advertising for all of Disney’s broadcast, cable, digital and social platforms, and ad-supported streaming services including the ABC Television Network, ESPN, FX, the ABC-owned television stations, National Geographic, Freeform, Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.We are looking for a motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual who can handle confidential information with discretion. The ideal candidate will be able to independently exercise good judgment, take initiative, manage multiple attorney calendars, and quickly adapt to changing events. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required for successful interaction with all levels of employees and external contacts.This role contributes to the overall success of the team by coordinating complex administrative tasks with minimal direction. It involves close collaboration with other staff members, supporting the senior executive team within DAS and The Walt Disney Company Legal and Global Affairs department.**What You Will Do**+ Thoughtfully manage complex calendars, protecting the time of lawyers, including the Deputy Chief Counsel, through strategic and proactive calendar management and assessing various meeting requests+ Communicate (both written and verbal) with various internal Disney departments, executives, and business units+ Handle highly confidential correspondence and information with the utmost discretion while maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents+ Book relatively infrequent travel for the Deputy Chief Counsel and others, create travel itineraries, and manage Travel & Entertainment expenses+ Order supplies and equipment, coordinate office space, process and track payments to vendors+ Ensure lawyers are prepared for meetings and events, as necessary/requested, and conduct research and report on specific topics as needed+ Prepare materials for internal and external creative presentations (e.g., PowerPoint decks)+ Assist with onboarding new department employees+ Manage and maintain various files, databases, and filing systems+ Handle execution of contracts+ Schedule and host Zoom meetings, which may involve sharing presentations**Required Qualifications & Skills**+ At least 5 years of experience in an administrative capacity for a senior executive (VP or higher)+ Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe, SAP, NetDocs, comparison software, DocuSign and Concur; ability and willingness to learn and use new software and tools, including document management systems+ Ability to proactively resolve problems, anticipate needs, take initiative, prioritize, meet deadlines, and be resourceful and flexible+ Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships across multiple levels of employees and clients within and outside the organization+ Highly organized, attentive to detail, strong proofreading skills, and ability to multi-task effectively+ Ability to exercise appropriate judgment in executing tasks without supervision+ Effective communication skills (written and verbal)**Preferred Qualifications**+ Experience supporting attorneys in a large law firm or large in-house legal department**Education**+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceThe hiring range for this position in New York is $64,800 - $89,100 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
