Are you ready to realize your potential?The PositionGenerates insights and provides US market access input to Global and US stakeholders to inform clinical trial programs, guide evidence generation development, payer value stories, and develops market access (pricing, contracting, and value assessment) strategies for Novo Nordisk cell therapy pipeline assets and provides input into Business Development opportunities and forecasts. Monitors evolving US market access environment to identify payer landscape trends and policy changes including but not limited to changes in healthcare policy, government healthcare programs, managed care, payment models, comparative effectiveness, customer engagement, and coverage and reimbursement. Conducts analysis of on-market cell therapy reimbursement to inform NNI strategy development for commercialization. Periodically presents landscape and “state of play” for cell therapy to MAPA leadership as pipeline moves through milestones. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to leverage and implement knowledge of reimbursement, managed care and healthcare policy to inform pricing strategies and processes for cell therapy pipeline products to ensure fact-based decisions are generated.RelationshipsReports to the Senior Director, Rare Value Communications & Pricing.Interacts internally with team representatives from Public Affairs, PCOR, Finance, Brands, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Future Business Strategy, Commercial, Account Management, Analytics, Legal, Regulatory, Investor Relations, Value Communication and Contracting Strategy colleagues, including global colleagues/counterparts, on a routine basis.Close relationships with Global Market Access and Pricing, the Global Project Teams (GPT) and Core Commercialization Teams (CCT) for launch brands may be required; as well as global Business Development teams.External relationships include interactions with key managed markets payers (potentially including but not limited to payers, PBMs, employers, and organized customer groups), associations, key opinion leaders (KOLs), government executives, vendors and consultants.Essential Functions+ Support key cell therapy market and pricing research strategy initiatives in the US and in collaboration with Global Market Access and Pricing teams to support development of pricing and net price assumptions for aligned assets and provide input and insights into forecasting and valuation discussions+ Develop the organizational understanding of the likely future evolution of cell therapy reimbursement. Shape the payer value story, supported by credible clinical, health economics and quality of life messages as the market and the NNI asset develops. Interfaces with HEOR team to guide evidence generation efforts that support payer value story development and market shaping activities+ Proactively identify and execute on projects to answer key business questions and share learnings/insights with MAPA leadership. Provide project management oversight (i.e. leads RFP process, vendor selection, participates in core team meetings, etc.) ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget+ Proactively provides insights that support Product Development Plan (PDP) updates and contributes input into Evidence Generation (EGP) for cell therapy pipeline assets; ensuring that US payer evidence generation updates are incorporated into TPPs/TAPs+ Deliver internal and/or external trainings and presentations on payer value communication and market access. Collaborates with Training to develop POA session format and content+ Assist in evaluations of business development opportunities as needed+ Evaluate innovative contracting approaches and impact of alternative payment models aligned to market developments+ Monitor on market competitors’ list price and contracting environment for pharmaceutical products and identifies analogs to help inform pipeline pricing strategies+ Work closely with Public Affairs team and PCOR to understand and communicate policy implications as they relate to reimbursement changes for cell therapy+ Leverage understanding of the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future competitor moves by supporting development of innovative strategies and tactics+ Demonstrates strong adaptability, flexibility in approach, and willingness to support other early asset projects across various pipeline platforms and therapeutic areas+ Develop and oversee implementation of key metrics. Regularly reviews current program progress to accomplish goals+ Adhere to administrative policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same+ Contribute to practices that attract and retain the best peoplePhysical Requirements0-10% overnight travel required.Qualifications+ A Bachelor 's Degree in Business or equivalent experience. MBA or another advanced degree preferred.+ A minimum of six (6) years of experience in any of the following areas: pharmaceutical sales, marketing, market insights, market research, pricing, contracting, managed markets strategy, or value communication within payer marketing, national account management, consulting, OR a minimum of three (3) years of experience in strategic market access in the pharmaceutical industry or PharmD experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of work experience, when appropriate+ Two (2) years of experience in managed markets analytics, financial modeling of pricing and contracting scenarios and strategies for inline or pipeline therapies, or managed markets preferred+ Intellectually curious mindset actively seeks out new sources of insight. Able to work independently and with less structure. Scientific acumen strongly desired. Excellent networking skills as it relates to external experts and thought leaders.
