The position will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to translate complex information into engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple print and digital platforms and venues.Duties and Responsibilities+ Build and sustain a cohesive media, communications, and marketing identity for the Department of Anthropology.+ Develop and implement a creative media and communications strategy that includes print media, social media, and digital media.+ Working with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, create visual storytelling and written content for a broad range of audiences, platforms, and channels.+ Envision, design, edit, and produce all department branding and marketing, promotional materials, printing, and digital media.+ Develop compelling social media campaigns, manage existing department social media channels, grow department social media reach, monitor and track social media analytics and audience engagement.+ Manage all aspects of department website.+ Engage with relevant communication teams and professionals to ensure that department stories and content appear on college and university platforms and channels.+ Elevate department media presence by strengthening relationships and offering strong story ideas to local, regional and national media.Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Journalism, Telecommunications, or Public Relations; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in public and media relations, composing, editing and publication production, news, broadcasting, and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation; spreadsheet and/or database software; public presentation; or radio production; or computer programming/technology; experience managing content for social media channels; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Web content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Ghost, etc.)Production of creative digital and print media – including long and short form video production, identity design, graphic design, newsletters, flyers, brochures, photography, merchandise, etc.Developing creative content for diverse social media platforms and channels, creating and managing social media campaigns, and monitoring analytics and user engagement.Writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, especially related to marketing and media communications.Desired QualificationsSkills:Innovative and creative thinking.Clear and compelling vision for visual storytelling projects and experiences.Experience:Designing and producing compelling visual storytelling products and experiences.
