As an Associate Toy Designer, you'll have the chance to work as part of a Design Team with one of the most popular and exciting brands in the industry! You'll use your creative skills to design and develop characters and toys that perfectly align with the brand's strategies and objectives. What you will do:

Be instrumental in generating new concepts

for plastic and plush toys

to enhance new and/or existing brands.Exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends/innovations as well as an understanding of the competitive marketplace in the toy industry.Champion great design in our high-quality products and help ensure they are within target cost and QA/QC requirements.Be adaptable to shifting priorities and be vigilant to keep your projects moving forward to hit deadlines.Work collaboratively with your Global Brand, Product Development, Packaging, and other internal team partners to create products that best fit the brand.Attend meetings and brainstorming sessions to obtain relevant information for product design.Successfully prepare, and communicate concepts to the Design, Product Management, and Brand teams.Deliver precise, clear, and complete product turnover specifications to ensure they are fully understood by the international team/factory.Support the overall strategic goals of the product Brand(s), and provide feedback during the development process that is attentive to the Licensor and for brand assurance.Complete, review, and update specification changes, submit for licensor approval, and provide comments for illustrative turns, sculpts, paint-masters, and sample reviews.Work closely with Design Team Manager(s) and Senior Designer(s) to resolve design and development issues, while ensuring designs meet the target cost, schedule, and brand standards.Manages People:

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree in toy design, industrial design, industrial engineering, or industry-relevant field preferred.0-3 years of relevant experience in toy product design (plastics & Plush) and/or experience with consumer packaged goods.Experience working with global manufacturing factories is preferred but not required.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)Strong, visual-verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of 3D Modeling, Sculpting, and Rendering is a plusKnowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processesDemonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skillsProactively observes and gains an understanding of the competitive marketplace including current trends and innovationDetail-oriented and a well-developed sense of aestheticsAbility to manage multiple projects, problem-solving, and adaptability to changeStrong written & verbal communication skills.Strong desire to be a team player and supportive of all projects.Demonstrates strong design skills and a well-developed sense of aesthetics.Strong desire to grow in the toy industry, storyteller.Working Conditions:

Actual base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for annual performance incentives may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, salary range may not apply to other states.
