The candidate will be able to collaborate effectively, multi-task efficiently, and independently manage time. PAAC implements a flex-time program and our team works remotely and in the office. We love our flexible workplace environment!We are based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi and our work requires occasional in-person work on weekends (when many PAAC events take place) and some evenings.

In-person events are mainly held on Oʻahu and may require travel throughout the state or internationally.

Some programs will take place virtually or in online formats. In accordance with Hawaiʻi State law, employees accrue compensatory time at 1.5 times the number of overtime hours worked.RESPONSIBILITIESAreas of Responsibility:

Events & Logistics Management, Events & Organizational Communications, Administrative DutiesEVENTS & LOGISTICS MANAGEMENTUnder oversight of Program Director(s), coordinate all PAAC US domestic/local program events’ logistics including but not limited to: a) Participant Registration: organizing name lists and corresponding professionally to inquiries, initiating necessary follow-up, etc., b) Researching and securing event venue, c) Arranging participants’ transportation (ground and air), d) Ordering food and refreshments, e) Booking lodging (when applicable), f) Setting up audio/visual equipment or working with technicians, g) Provide support with Study Tour programs as neededManage program expenditures (e.g. submit payments and track expenses) to stay within allocated budget(s)Anticipated events (usual month held) under the role’s responsibility include: Teacher Retreat (August), LEAD Summit (October), Global Vision Summit (December), LEAD Workshop (January), K-12 Teacher Workshop (February), Academic WorldQuest Competition (March), Student Showcase (May)EVENTS & ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATIONSCreate and share content which builds engagement and support in three target audiences: 1) students, 2) Funders/donors, 3) Community of supporters (alumni/teachers/advisors/facilitators/volunteers)Update, schedule, and disseminate information using the following communication platforms: a) MailChimp: Email newsletters & periodic messaging; b) Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, TikTok: Social media posts; c) Squarespace: PAAC website; d) YouTube: Video storytellingDesign event and organizational promotional materials such as email newsletters, periodic email messaging, flyers, social media posts/video, annual report, brochures, etc.Manage MailChimp audiences and other databases including uploads, cleaning, updating, etc.Draft and send press releasesSupport team with sharing of other content (e.g. alumni surveys, senior survey, etc.) and with PAAC branding on program content when necessaryManage Communications InternsADMINISTRATIVE DUTIESDraft and send out thank you letters to donorsPrepare monthly depositsOther Support:Support preparation during the week of all PAAC events and be present to support at these eventsWilling to travel and serve as a chaperone for Study ToursComplete other projects or assignments as requested by the Executive DirectorQUALIFICATIONSEducation:

Minimum High School diploma or equivalentRequired SkillsHighly organized with an eye for detail and accuracyAble to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks at onceEffective communicator: a) Verbal communication: able to communicate clearly, respectfully, and appropriately with teammates, students, interns, etc.; b) Written communication: able to produce compelling written pieces that can inform, move audiences to action, and drive web traffic and conversationStrong interpersonal skills: team player, high emotional intelligence, problem solver, adaptableHigh level of initiative and personal responsibility; goal oriented, results-driven, able to work independently without high directionExperience with social media creation and communication platform administration: MailChimp, Instagram, Facebook, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, etc.Computer proficiency, including use of Google Suite applications (e.g., Gmail, Drive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, Forms etc.), Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) or Mac equivalents, and online video conferencing platforms such as Zoom. Able to gain proficiency in other online software applications as needed.Experience with Canva and other content creation applicationsPreferred SkillsPrior experience in communications work (social media, design, copywriting, etc.)Filmography: able to produce compelling long-form and short-form video content optimized for YouTube and social media channelsPhotojournalism: able to produce compelling and high-quality photo content that engages audiencesKnowledgeable of high school student demographics and interests (in order to communicate effectively to this audience)Basic knowledge of Squarespace website designExperience living, working, or traveling in the Asia-Pacific regionCOMPENSATION + BENEFITSBase salary for this position is $48,000 - $58,000 and will be determined by experience. As PAAC continues to grow, we also hope to grow salaries accordingly.Health insurance will be covered by PAAC after four consecutive weeks of employment. PAAC also provides a SIMPLE IRA matching program after six months of employment.An annual parking pass or equivalent transportation budget is providedPaid leave of absence: PAAC observes all federal and state holidays; employees are eligible for 20 vacation days and 20 sick days per yearPAAC implements a flex-time program which allows staff to work their 40 hours per week outside of the traditional 8:30am - 5pm, M-F structure.
