Our team needs your help to build on this momentum as we turn our attention to creating a best in class experience for our installers.This role sits within the Product organization, and will lead product design for the supplier side of our marketplace. You will also inspire, mentor and coach less experienced designers on UX and design best practices as well as user-centered design and research practices. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will be a part of setting our vision for the future and you’ll create new features and functionality that decrease churn, uncover new revenue opportunities and give our suppliers the tools needed to power a delightful experience for our consumers.What You’ll Do

Bring deep SaaS experience with user-centered, bar-raising design craft in creating and optimizing user experiences, and a passion for leading complex, high impact projects, and influencing product strategy through design vision.Lead project from start to finish, delivering engaging experiences that address user needs, consistently utilizing design thinking processes, user testing and research, in-house experts, analytical tools for data-driven insights, and best practices.Champion our suppliers company-wide through deep knowledge of their business and their needs.Execute and deliver on product objectives and priority workstreams, including supplier-facing site redesign, across product verticals (home solar, heating and cooling, power storage, electric vehicle charging, etc).Day-to-day mentorship of earlier career designers, upleveling the design team in craft, presentation, and communicating for clarity and influence.Lead by example through effective communication, articulating best practices and complex ideas.Think strategically and holistically to design scalable, multi-vertical marketplace products that deliver our users clear solutions to complex problems while addressing future goals/scale and product roadmaps in design solutions.Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to co-create superior solutions and ensure high quality output.Partner with leadership and cross-functional peers to architect roadmaps and articulate relevant supporting design work.Proactively introduce and integrate operational efficiencies for both design and cross-functional collaboration and delivery.Drive the adoption of renewable energy through home electrification and fight climate change!What You’ll Need

The desire to work in a highly collaborative hybrid environment – this role will work out of our Boston office Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.1+ years of experience as a Principal, Staff or Lead product designer, partnering with company-wide high-level stakeholders on strategic initiatives, with 5+ years partnering with cross-functional teams of engineers, product management, etc.A portfolio of past work that demonstrates user-centered design, highlighting strategic SaaS or B2B projects in some, if not all, of the following: product design vision, e-commerce, marketplaces, mobile, and quantitative and qualitative decision-making.A track record as a company-wide champion of product design with experience educating, mentoring and coaching folks across the company in design craft, user research and UX best practices.The ability to act on both a tactical and strategic level, balancing delivery of designs for a product team with the ability to think at a system level, designing solutions that are extensible and scalable across our product and into the future or helping leadership set the long-term design vision.Expert understanding of UX design, research, and workshop methodologies, trends, toolsets, and best practices.Strong communication and organization skills. You set expectations, are clear and transparent, and know how to keep the right people informed of your progress.Are proficient in industry standard tools in design and collaboration tools like Figma, Jira, Confluence, Heap, Usertesting.com, etc.Deep understanding of product development and the related artifacts, including user discovery, site maps, user flows/task flows, user journeys, page flows, paths to purchase, taxonomies/folksonomies, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes, etc.Demonstrated experience designing and executing user research and usability tests as well as leading design workshops and design sprints.Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job - but we believe there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate.
