Head of External & Digital Communications

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Head of External & Digital Communications. This position manages, develops and implements global communication plans in alignment with the overall communications strategy and in support of the business priorities of two global Business Lines; IFE and AGS. Your primary focus will be digital communications, external communications including content development, exhibitions & events and branding. You will work closely with marketing and sales to support product and customer campaigns aimed at external stakeholders and target audiences. Additionally, this position will also support internal communication projects as needed, lead a number of campaigns as well as the organization of BL wide internal events.

This role requires strong influential skills and leadership presence to effectively interface with members of the executive team of two business lines (IFE and AGS). Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Customer Success, Marketing and Product teams to help drive the business line’s communication agenda.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Lead and manage the global digital communications plans, campaigns, and tactics for IFE and AGS

Responsible for the design and content of the business line’s internal and external web platforms, manages coordination with the appropriate teams and stakeholders (Website, Intranet, Digital Workplace, EasyCom …)

Responsible for managing key projects as well as 3rd party communication department vendors to ensure successful delivery on time and budget

Manage, create and drive all external communications plans and content, including media plans, collateral assets, exhibitions, and events

Develop and manage brand assets for the BL in support of the communications strategy and in line with Group standards including Video, and Presentation materials

Oversee communications related to site-specific (Irvine) CSR activities and Change Management initiatives such as: D&I, EHS, Workplace transformation, smart working, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or other business related field

Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience working in communications within a large multi-national corporation, in technology related industry

Good understanding of our products, services and markets we serve

Strong communications generalist – Good knowledge of all aspects of communications including digital, social media, writing, content development

Strong influential and interpersonal skills, seen as go-to-person in your area of expertise

Experience leading large projects, campaigns, and related resources with the ability to bring together cross-functional project teams

Pay Transparency

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $94,154.20 - $174,857.80 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
